Stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding party, so I didn't make the arrangements and didn't know quite what to expect. As far as NY hotels go, it can be hit or miss and I never did any up front research. First impression: Walking in, this hotel has serious charm. Big open sitting areas, including the Blue themed...

My wife and I arrived, flustered from the abusive Customs official at Newark Airport who decided that the US was the greatest country in the world and screamed at a bunch of us we should wait longer than 2 hours and be happy to wait more than 3 or 4 hours and if we want to go faster, than this...

I was delighted with the service staff's demeanor. Everyone was so warm and friendly. My requests and questions did not feel like a burden during a NYC minute! The room was comfortable and classically decorated to celebrate the elaborate history of the hotel.

Excellent location in the heart of Time Square. Great service provided by the staff, especially the concierge, Linda Mahadir who was just fabulous. She suggested various places to visit and helped me greatly and she is also easy on the eyes. Overall, a very nice place to stay

My daughter and I usually stay here when in NYC and have found it a far better deal than many of the higher end hotels, based on location, price and services. This time, as usual, we booked the suite with the combo bedroom and living room with sofabed. When we arrived at the hotel, after a horrible experience with taxis...

We stayed at the newly refurbished Algonquin, and it was a truly nice experience. After staying in new, sleek, modern hotels, it was nice to stay in a hotel steeped in history. The lounge area, known as "New York's Living Room" was a wonderful place to enjoy an evening cocktail. We had two of the most perfectly-mixed martinis we have...

We arrived on Saturday, April 20. We asked for a suite on the highest floor possible. We stayed on the 8th floor (the hotel has 10). Couldn't imagine staying in a regular room. The decor in the suites is classically beautiful. We requested extra towels and I have no idea what the norm is but we had plenty. When in...

I stayed at The Algonquin for one night in February for business. Normally I stay at the London when in New York, but thought I would try here because of the history. It was fine but I won't be going back. Compared to The London the rooms and hallways are cramped and the whole hotel has a bit of a...

Location is great, near all NYC attractions, only a short walk to reach Times Square and the Theatre district. The property is a must, and old building and historic one, but reciently renovated. The rooms are really cozy ..and public areas too. Matilda will receive you every morning. Personal and concierge helps a lot in all your needs. The hotel...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
