We give this hotel 5+ stars for its wonderful staff and outstanding Upper East Side location (near Central Park and so many of NYC’s major art museums). This is not a typical impersonal “chain” hotel. The staff, especially XOshera, could not have been more welcoming. My wife and I felt right at home during our four-night stay in April. We have no complaints about our room, which, although small, was lovely, cozy, and quiet. We are very grateful for the warm hospitality we received and will be back in the Fall.

Hotel's Favourite
This is a fantastic hotel in a great location. Every front desk staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The lobby and rooms are stylishly decorated and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and bed and bath linens are quality. The rooms are small, but nobody should be complaining about it. This is typical for Manhattan hotels unless you are paying upwards of $600/night. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are small (average for NYC) but they were updated and clean. What stands out for me is the staff. They were the nicest people. There is even a little coffee bar, snack stand and water on tap (fizzy and still). My daughter lives around the corner but the location is great for anyone. Safe neighborhood near Central Park and Museum Mile! I will be back

The first time we went to Paris (in our early 20s), we stayed in a hotel very similar in size to Voco the Franklin. Though we didn't exactly anticipate how small the room would be this time, we got used to it pretty quickly and in fact brought us back to "Europe" for a brief moment. I picked this hotel because it's in the neighborhood we've always wanted to check out, not as tourists but potential residents in the future — and our stay here did not disappoint us. We really liked what we saw and would highly recommend staying here if you want a chill weekend getaway in NYC where you can access to residential neighborhood and spend some quality time at the museums :) Ps. FYI I wouldn't recommend staying in this hotel if you have infants/small kids. The standard room is small, the bathroom is tiny, and the elevator...I'm not even sure if it'd fit a stroller (plus you gotta walk up a couple stairs up to enter the hotel).

We have stayed here before. Close to friends and the museums and Central Park. THIS time we spent the extra for a larger room and worth the extra cost. We managed the TIINY room in the past, but the King really a regular size small hotel room. Very comfortable for a break to relax. The bathroom quite small. The people who work there VERY nice. We will stay again.

Based on the excellent location and the great staff I would give this hotel 5 stars. Every time we turned the corner at Eli Zabar's I looked forward to seeing the big red Franklin sign! In addition, every single staff member, reception to cleaners - all - were outstandingly courteous, cheerful and helpful. I did feel the staff was a bit overworked but they did everything to make us feel well taken care of. There were a few things that could be improved so I had to go to 4 stars and note them as well. Our room, which was not the smallest, did not have enough space for the bathroom door to fully open or room for a chair or a place to open a second suitcase - we stayed for a week and got used to it. Shower did not have enough hot water - harder to get used to. I only learned the last day that wonderful coffee and an assortment of teas were available in the eating area. A little card listing all of the hotel services would be an easy plus. In the final analysis, staff trumps all, so yes, we'll be back next time we return to visit our precious new grandson!

Maybe the cleanest hotel I've stayed in. Staff was wonderful. The Carnegie Hill location is great. The rooms are quiet. The bed was comfortable. I'd stay here again. Snack and beverages are available, and you are literally steps from Zabar's. A shout out to Xoshela and Glenn.

I stayed here for 3 nights from 2024.2.18 to 2024.2.21. I booked the 2 double bed room directly on the hotel website. This is by far my favorite midtown hotel in New York. Exceptional location (walking distance to the MET, Guggenheim) close to subway station, countless cafes, bakeries, restaurants and shops. It is also a relatively quiet area at night. While the room was small but enough to accommodate two adults and a child, there is adequate size common area in the first floor for chatting, some work, and eating. It looks like the room has been recently renovated and the pre-war style elevator is surprisingly fast. The two receptionists are very nice, friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there when I visit NYC. Hotel Tips 1. Book through the hotel website (better selection and competitive price). If you use capitaloneshopping, it often gives you 10-15% money back. 2. Use the common area on the first floor for to-go eating. 3 Use the parking lot across from the hotel. I paid $40 a day. I searched alot for better price but realized that this was a really competitive price.

We booked a room this past Tuesday night . There were so many great last minute hotels to choose from but since our children live very close by the Franklin , that’s where we booked . We have stayed there a few times before and it had been always fine. I had just never have been a big fan of their dark navy walls with framed pictures of owls that look like they are staring at you, (that is their signature decor) but our experience had always been a good otherwise. When we got to our room this time it was so disappointing. The room was a weirdly shaped corner tiny room. It was so small of a room that the the sink and mirror from the bathroom were right next to the side of the bed . The bed was ten inches from the wall on the other side which made it very uncomfortable to get in and out of the bed on that side. It was obvious that the sink and mirror did not belong in the bedroom but the bathroom was extra small too. I was awkward My husband went down to the front desk and asked if they could move us to another room but unfortunately the woman that was working was not helpful and said thats what we booked and we would have to pay more to upgrade if we wanted another room. There was no reason for her not to change our room. If I had not stayed there before a few times and if it was even a slight bit busy I would have totally understood but that was definitely not the case. They chose not accommodate us .The Franklin hotel is on the upper east side, at 164 E 87th street We were totally disappointed in their lack of customer service . We expected better from this hotel and do not recommend staying here. NYC has many great hotels who care about the comfort of their guests especially customers who have come back before. On a positive note, we enjoyed the cookies that were given to us at check in and the woman at the check out desk was very lovely and the best part of that hotel experience so kudos to who hired her. Mr & Mrs LaRocca

I had very little time in NYC with both the Met and MoMA to be visited, so I selected The Franklin because of its location. For $850 a night I had been expecting something comfortable. The room was overlooking a wall, but I didn’t mind because I didn’t come here for the view. It so small that I could hardly open my suitcase. What with the sink in the room I had to squeeze in between the bed and the window to somehow sit at the desk. The bathroom was also tiny albeit nice clean with a good shower. The A/C was somewhat noisy. The front desk staff were nice and helpful. You should only select this hotel if hard pressed because of the location, which is excellent.
