We just spent 4 nights at the Inn at Irving Place. None of the reviews we looked at prior to booking mentioned that it is situated right above a bar that has a DJ playing techno/trance at extremely high volume with thundering bass lines until 1am. The front desk has no control over the DJ. So happy to be back...

Beautiful inn we had a suite with a balcony window. Lots of comfortable seating. The room and the Inn is decorated in Victorian style. Bathroom equipped with Terry bath robes. Great service we had coffee delivered to our room in the morning. Great location close to Gramercy park, union square, and East village. Very friendly staff, fresh flowers throughout.

This brownstone building houses a lovely period hotel with ten rooms. There's a tea Solon as part of the offering that gets rammed in the afternoon. Breakfast is not worth the effort, don't bother with a few sliced of bread, croissants, cold hard boiled eggs, tepid coffee and fruit. But the service is great, friendly, helpful and refreshing for NYC....

The Inn at Irving Place is wonderful. Their rooms are lovely and the ambiance there is like stepping back in time. You feel like you're staying at someone's estate home instead of hotel! The staff are very professional and caring. I can't compliment the Inn at Irving Place enough. Stay here, you won't be disappointed! Great for singles or couples.

My boyfriend and I spent one night here and it was adorable! We stayed in a place in Bruges that was a part of the "Best Little Hotels" community so he finds out about great little places and this is one of them! It reminded us so much of our time in Bruges. There's at the most 8 rooms, so...

great location, big quiet rooms, very comfortable bed, very nice people and good service...breakfast ok. Coffee good. Only thing is the furniture and paint all a little distressed or maybe a lot distressed It is a historic old brownstone but the furniture looks like its been there since the beginning. Low lighting, but I would definitely stay again.

The hotel itself is an amazing find! A converted brownstone tucked into a quiet block on Irving Place. The rooms are huge, especially for NYC standards. And the ceilings, furnishings, linens (frette) & every touch are a special treat. So why only 3 stars, you ask? I had a poor experience that escalated quickly because the staff isn't trained for...

We stayed here for one night but wish it was longer. The hotel is in a great location (quiet street but very close to Union Square) and is different from other hotels nearby. It's a converted brownstone decorated to look like it's right out of the 30s. Our room was much bigger than any other hotel room I've stayed in...

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It's cozy, charming and very different than any other hotel I have stayed in in NYC. The staff is great-helpful, pleasant and quick to respond. The manager personally greeted me and took the time to chat. The morning breakfast is lovely and old fashioned. The room was spacious with a very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally built in 1834, three single family brownstones sat at the corner of 17th and Irving Place. Over the years, the corner brownstone was torn down and a small apartment building was built in its place. The two remaining brownstones have stood the test of time, and they now create The Inn. While once combined as a single family home, the brownstones also housed everything from apartments, The Ingersol Mens Club, a Speak Easy, and a Beauty Parlor and Day Spa. After completion of a three year renovation, The Inn at Irving Place opened its door in December of 1994. ... more   less
