Have travelled to NYC many times, usually staying at the St Regis, Michelangelo, or downtown. So, this was the first time at The Lowell upon recommendation of a friend. Great recommendation!! While not cheap, the suites or lovely and comfortable, like a great house. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The waiter for breakfast actually brings in his homemade... More

We could live at the Lowell. The one-bedroom suite with fireplace and living/dining rooms is delightful. We enjoyed two warm and cozy real-wood fires (they do all the work for you). Nice room, great location and excellent service. The gym is not really a gym and the lobby is not much of a lobby. The dining room, again, is small... More

This place is a fortune and I can't really figure out why. Room design is nothing special and service is just adequate. If anything , service is either standoffish or overly attentive which can be annoying. The lobby is under construction so check in is unimpressive. For the super high prices , I'd definitely look elsewhere.

I truly enjoyed my stay at The Lowell. It was just absolutely marvelous. The room is quite elegant, beautifully decorated yet warm and inviting. The room is also amazingly quiet for being in a such a convenient location. We also loved many wonderful choices of breakfast. But what makes this hotel so special is its outstanding service by the friendly... More

We've stayed at The Lowell several times over the years - only hotel we stay at in NYC. The small gem is well-located in a quiet upper E. Side neighborhood and offers a luxe experience. Recently, we were to stay at the hotel while we attended a jazz show (in Sept.). Unfortunately I became ill and unable to travel. I... More

The staff is tremendous, but should be given the pricey rates. It's a location and an atmosphere that keeps me and my family coming back. Only negative is the ongoing renovation of the lobby restaurant and the now begun lobby renovation. Both temporary and hopefully short term.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
