We went to NY for a business trip for my husband. We were booked into the Waldorf which I've never stayed at. (husband has). The name Waldorf Astoria always conjured up top notch hotel for me but that was not the case. It wasn't that it was horrible its just that its very old and needs to be updated. The... More

Great deco experience, full of authentic old charm, with top class service. The beds are so comfortable, and the grade of linen is high (as you would expect). Even though the charm is fading in some areas, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

My now fiancee booked a suite at the Waldorf Astoria the day he proposed to me on the bow bridge of central park. The suite was large with its own fireplace, lounge area and separate bedroom and bathroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The hotel is certainly iconic with its gorgeous interiors however,... More

Disappointed. Primarily due to the long wait time to check in, the less than modern condition of the room for the price, the restuarant service and the difficulty with valet service. On the positive side, the hotel is situated conviently to theater, shopping and expectional restuarants.

The Waldorf is the epitome of classic and nostalgic. My husband and I stayed a few days while visiting our son. The lobby is very ornate and beautiful and the lobby lounge offers great nibbles and a wonderful selection of wine, liquor and dinner menu. As you could expect, the staff are professional, courteous, helpful and accommodating. If you visit,... More

Stayed here with my sister and Mum. First time to NYC and what a way to stay in style. Very historic place with lots of history and legends alike (secret underground train terminals etc 😜) Sunday Champagne Brunch at Peacock Alley was to die for. Left stuffed and slightly tipsy. Words won't do this place justice, so I'm not even... More

My wife and I were splurging for our 20th anniversary. Unfortunately, what we got for our $400+ dollars was a moldy-smelling room with a broken clothes iron, a 20 minute wait at check-in for a room that wasn't yet ready (although we got to the hotel an hour-plus after check-in time), and a whole lot of irritation. Meh.

Classic accommodations in a famous hotel. We found the rooms to be OK as far as cleaning, but obviously tired although classy and attractive. Service was excellent and everyone was very professional. Loved the concierge lounge atmposhere. Happy for our selection and would like to return during Christmas.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
