I had the luxury of staying in this gorgeous hotel for two fabulous nights. First of all, my room was huge! It had two beds, a sitting area with a fireplace and a nice bathroom. The hotel is gorgeous vintage and has a wonderful rooftop terrace for a glass of wine or coffee when the weather is nice. The staff...

Fab glam location--blocks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the 'Guge', the Jewish Museum--and of course, the Cental Park Ramble and NYC's best kept secret--the Conservatory Garden. Amazing breakfasts at Sarabeth's on the 1st floor (amazing pancakes and lox Benedict). The Wales' parlor also serves high tea!

We had a medium size room with comfortable bed and very clean and comfortable bathroom fitted with a shower. We missed the minibar. Our room was a little bit too noisy as air conditioning equipment from the adjacent courtyard buzzed through the windows even though we kept them closed. The elevator did not descend to the lobby from the 6th...

Stayed for a week at this 130 year old hotel. Was immediately struck by the age of the building itself and everything that comes with old structures like the small lobby, very small elevators and the tired look of the hallways. We reserved one of the more expensive 2-room suites and our room was very large and nicely decorated. The...

This review is long overdue, but I was determined to let everyone know about this wonderful gem of a hotel. I found this place by using a Google search and reading many reviews. Every one I read was 3-4 stars, excellent. My weekend involved Central Park (CP) tours and a Broadway show. I never visited CP nor the Upper East...

We were not sure what to expect from the hotel when we booked our trip, as we booked through a discount website. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was a little smaller than expected, but the staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had. The hotel is located in the Upper East Side, which is good for...

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
