All night we had a constant banging noise coming from the heating unit. My husband can sleep through almost anything. Not this. Worst sleep ever. And when we first got to our room there was a used mask on the bedroom floor that I had to remove!
The Lucerne is centrally located near many New York landmark sites on the West side and in walking distance to Central Park, New York Historical Society and the Museum of Natural History. This is our go to hotel on the upper west side.
We will be back in February. We actually been staying every month Friday Saturday and leave on Sunday. The staff the people the room is always nice and clean and people always treat a VIP I love our corner room 710 I try to get that every time it’s a beautiful room maybe one day me and my wife will get the VIP room.
Excellent location with comfortable, clean room. Many restaurants and museums within walking distance. Does not try to be a cabin on the Starship Enterprise with all sorts of electronic gizmos and screens - a refreshing break.
We found a deal at the Lucerne a number of years ago through a third-party site, and once we'd stayed there we knew we'd return anytime we traveled to New York. The location is amazing - not far to Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, lots of great dining, the 1 Train, etc. The staff is phenomenal, the rooms are understatedly luxurious, and walking in the front door always feels like coming home.
The hotel is located a block from the subway/bus and Zabars - which my husband went to every morning for bagels and coffee. Also a block from the Natural History Museum and Central Park. We had a double deluxe room in the 10th floor with a partial view of Amsterdam Ave, the sky and some other cool buildings. Lots of sunshine and also blackout curtains if you need them. Room was quiet. No microwave or fridge, but a Keurig, coffee maker, Lovely lobby and the elevators worked perfectly. Staff was friendly and professional. All in all, a wonderful place to stay!
Beautiful, clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent location in close proximity to museum of Natural History and art museum. Delicious room service! The hotel held our bags after checkout so that we could spend the day exploring the upper west side. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nearby parking available in a secured garage. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely come again!
This hotel is my favorite hotel on the Upper West Side. We try to visit NYC twice a year and we have stayed in other UWS hotels. We feel like this one is the absolute best. The staff is always extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The room has always been very clean- the maid staff is wonderful. Yes, it is an older hotel but it has been updated and does not disappoint. The room size is great- especially for NYC. The location is awesome- nearby many wonderful restaurants and bars. The park is nearby and many museums. With two subway stations within walking distance you can't beat it. We had a wonderful stay- as always- at a very busy Christmas season. Matter of fact, my husband and I are returning this spring for my birthday weekend. You must try this hotel. You will not be disappointed.…
We always enjoy our time at The Lucerne. This visit I had a tragic family emergency and had to leave less than 24 hours after arriving for a 6 day stay. The hotel was extremely helpful and accommodating.
We stayed at the Lucerne on a recent family weekend to NYC. The staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived. Our room was spacious and spotless! The beds were comfortable and no issues with noise in the evenings/nights. Super close to the subway stop so getting around was a breeze. Quick walk to Natural History Museum and Central Park. Would stay again.
