Arthouse Hotel New York City is inspired by the creativity, community, and artistic culture of the Upper West Side. Guests will appreciate the location’s convenient proximity to Manhattan’s business and leisure destinations, access to the residential amenities of one of New York’s best neighborhoods, and three highly fashionable bar and restaurant venues located within the hotel. Luxury guest rooms and suites feature all new custom furnishings; cutting-edge design in a warm palette of grays and blues paired with pops of vibrant color from accents such as hanging lamps and metal doors on storage cabinets and nightstands; and original artwork from local artists. Rooms also feature high-speed Internet and our signature bed—the most comfortable in the industry. A number of rooms offer balconies and stunning views of the New York City skyline, Central Park and the Hudson River.

Upper West Side
Nestled between Central Park and the Hudson River, the Upper West Side offers iconic architecture and a quiet, residential respite from the buzzing energy of downtown. Along Central Park West are many of the city’s most iconic apartment buildings, as well as the American Museum of Natural History, which has been welcoming visitors to its historic exhibit halls for over 140 years. Culture fans will love Lincoln Center, home to some of the world’s best opera, dance, film, and theatre performances, all centrally located around a beautiful fountain. Spanning the entire length of the Upper West Side, Riverside Park is ideal for a long, leisurely stroll in a quiet green space.

While it's advisable to stay on a top floor due to noise, the hotel is in a great location and all of the staff is very accommodating. The beds are some of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever experienced. Ramona was especially helpful and kind.

For the amount you pay and the size of the the king room just way too small. I think I bumped into myself twice while in the room. Location not too bad but way over priced. Next year we will be looking for a different hotel.

Conveniently located near the family we visit, and very pleasant ambience. Caveat: they charge a $35 "urban fee" - for "water and wifi" - just another hidden cost to figure into the bottom line room charge.

Dear EllenPortland_OR, We're proud to be your go-to choice in the Upper West Side. Happy our location is perfect for your visits and that you love our overall vibe. I regret to hear though that you were caught off guard by our Urban Fee. We know what an important consideration this is and are working hard with third-party sites to make it as transparent as possible. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back again soon. Warm regards, Connie

Laura, thank you for your question. We're thrilled to regularly host people visiting Columbia, which is a short subway ride from Arthouse. To get there, you can take the 1 train from either the 72nd or 79th Street station uptown to 116th Street. From there it is about a five-minute walk to Teacher's College. Our concierge would be happy to assist with any questions on getting around the city. We hope to see you in June!

Can somebody please tell me how much the urban tax/city tax will be for 4 nights please. Thank you
chadwicks6, thank you for your question. The taxes added to any stay include: 14.75% of room rate (8.875% state + 5.875% city), $2.00 Occupancy Tax, $1.50 NYC Javits Center Tax. Our Urban Fee, which includes unlimited Wifi, domestic calls, and use of the Fitness and Business Centers, as well as daily bottled water and other perks, is $35 a night plus tax, so $40.16 tax included. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Anyone know convenient reasonable parking garage near the hotel?
Yes there are plenty around. You can price shop on a map on the BestParking website. TripAdvisor won’t let me post the url but it’s easy to find. We like the garage at 79th and Amsterdam but there are tons of choices.
