Stayed at the Hotel Metro for four nights at the start of the month and were very impressed by all aspects. Our room, a superior king, was comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were excellent in the dealings we had with them, the breakfast was simple and functional more than delicious but was a good way to... More

We stayed here in mid November 2013 to celebrate my 50th birthday. The Hotel is in a wonderful location in Central Manhattan with close access to many attractions. The room was small but comfortable and because the days were so packed we never heard a great deal of noise at night. Breakfast is adequate and served on paper plates but... More

We stopped in a superior queen room on the 9th floor. The room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and a superb bathroom with a huge walk in shower I wanted to take home with me!! Everything was very clean and all towels, toiletries and room refreshments were changed daily. The room came equipped with large wardrobe, hair dryer,... More

I stayed here mid December 2013 for two nights from Toronto. I felt completely safe travelling as a solo female. The location was great - five minutes to Flatiron District or Times Square, and right on Fifth Avenue for shopping. The room was small - a double mini - and it was that! Quiet room, tucked away from street, but... More

Very good hotel with well appointed rooms and very comfortable beds! Room allocated was not on the streetside of the hotel and was therefore very quiet. Well placed for Broadway, sight seeing and the shops. Very close to the subway. Perfect location for a short stay. Good breakfast if a little unimaginative - very high carbs!

We arrived at our hotel around noon (hours before check-in)- not only was our room ready, but we were upgraded to a king bed at no extra charge...what a nice surprise! The room was beautiful! Very spacious, clean, and the design was very tasteful. The hotel had an old-fashioned feel, but not in a run-down kind of way- had lots... More

I travelled to New York with my 16 year old daughter from the UK and were staying at the Hotel Metro for 5 nights. I was so excited about this hotel as the reviews that I read for this hotel were very good, although it had slipped in the Trip Adviser ratings since originally booking. I don't tend to take... Choosing a New York City hotel is always an adventure for me, and the ever-rising prices make finding a bargain a challenge. Cross-referencing the best TripAdvisor rankings with the best prices I could find, a Hotels.com deal made the Hotel Metro a seemingly obvious choice for a three-night pre-Christmas trip I was planning with my wife. My old standby, the... More

This was our second visit to New York. Having had an excellent stay at the Hotel Metro in December 2011, we decided to return to this fantastic hotel with our parents. We were nervous that we wouldn't be able to re-create the magic of our first trip to New York but this trip exceeded our expectations and did not disappoint.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
