What a wonderful experience!!!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Giraffe for two nights, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. The location is excellent, near very good restaurants and a short taxi ride away from most sights. The staff were lovely, including the doormen who got us taxis and got us settled into them before moving on to something else. Now let me comment effusively about the room. New York hotel rooms are notoriously small. We had a very generously sized king-sized room with high ceilings, large windows, ample lighting, three chairs , one with a footstool, and mirrors galore. There was a large closet and many drawers for clothing. The bathroom was large, mirrored with ample counter space for toiletries. And there was a lit make-up/shaving mirror. There was a safe, everything worked, and our room was cleaned daily. It was quiet and there were blackout shades. In addition, the spacious lobby was outfitted with a grand piano , many sofa and chairs and fresh fruit, power bars, pastries and a water dispenser with cucumbers. Also included in the price, which was around $300/night was a buffet breakfast. I am a very fussy traveler and the only fault I could find was with the remote for the tv. We will definitely be paying the Hotel Giraffe another visit on our next trip to NYC.

Fantastic hotel. Rooms are large and quiet. Everyone from the front desk to breakfast attendant to bellman to housekeeping are the hardest workers and aim to please. The breakfast was great and never had to wait for an elevator. I will always stay here!

Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff from the moment we stepped in until the moment we left. I've stayed in a numbef of Manhattan hotels over the years and have not experienced a crew so unfailingly friendly- from the maintenance crew, to cleaning staff, to breakfast bar waitstaff and doormen, My partner and I stayed for 5 days in a king suite room with our son. The set up was perfect as the bedroom is a separate room, and our 6 foot tall son slept well on the comfy pull-out couch in the front room sitting area. They even sent him up his own fridge, lol. The free continental breakfasts were great- delicious croissants and pastries, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, juice, tea, coffee etc., and the all day snacks (Cliff

Our king bed was very comfortable as were the selection of pillows. I requested a higher up room on 26th street which was nice and quiet. The location was convenient with 2 subway stops nearby and the neighborhood is nice with restaurants on the doorstep and a CVS pharmacy 2 min. away. We walked to Greenich, Times Square and the Circle Line dock. Cabs are constantly available nearby as well. The rooftop verandah is a nice quiet spot with a resident Giraffe statue. I wish I remembered everyone's names but big thanks to all and to Tiffany in particular. We'd love to come back, soon!

Excellent hotel that I highly recommend. We chose a suite and were pleasantly impressed by the spaciousness of the two rooms and the size of the bathroom, especially for the standards of the city. A "light" breakfast is included which fully satisfied us, if we ignore the flavor of the coffee (hot drinks, bagels, yogurt, croissants, spreadable cheese, butter, jams, fruit). There were also two complimentary bottles of water in the room, which were left every morning. Less than a five minute walk away you will find the Metro stop, Mc Donald's, two supermarkets (not well stocked, but with the essentials).
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Generally, when we visit a city several times, we prefer to change hotels, but, having to return to NYC, I would make the same choice.

Travelled from N.Ireland to spend 4 nights in NYC for wifey's 40th birthday celebrations. Had stayed nearby once before but and it was a good hotel but I was taken by the great reviews here and 24hr lobby service of drinks and snacks.
Now price wise I'm thinking NYC is normally just more expensive in December and you get what you pay for. The hotel overall was excellent and here's why -
Location: a half hour walk or so and quick Uber from lots of the main tourist sights. Relatively quiet area, (this is Manhattan after all!) and close to loads of great restaurants, cafes and a couple of good pharmacies for odds and ends you may need. Also couple of blocks from Madison Square Park and Union Square Park which are great for a stroll.
Room: big room and nice size bathroom too. People have criticised the furnishings as being out of date but I would say they're more traditional and everything in the room is in great condition. Bed is so comfy and room spotlessly clean too and cleaned every day to that standard. Free bottles of water in room each day also a great touch. Best TV service we've ever experienced in a hotel, all the channels you could want when having some down time. Usually when we holiday in Europe there's usually a real lack of channels!
We were on the 6th floor and noise didn't bother us at all at night. Again, it's Manhattan, you would expect some noise and in fact we found it quite novel and reminded you where you were. But again, no issues with getting a good night's sleep,chat was more the jet lag!
Lobby area: available 24/7 with tea, coffee, water and snacks bars (and also pastries early in the day). A great place to unwind from walking and sight seeing and replenish those reserves. Breakfast also served here with added fresh fruit juice, boiled eggs, toast, bagels, yogurt and pastries. Everything you could need before heading out. We always found a table and the staff who manned the breakfast were super friendly and helpful.
This really is an excellent hotel and would recommend it to anyone staying in NYC.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and attentive. The room staff did an excellent job with daily cleaning of the room. Very close to the subway and multiple restaurants nearby.
Our overall impression of the hotel was really nice. Great location, large bathroom, quiet in the room, and lots of closet space. Continental breakfast was fine, just needs more offering of fruit and what they put out. The same items were offered our entire stay. The people at breakfast were very nice and attentive.
We had a one bedroom suite with a balcony. The room was very nice except that no coffee machine is provided. You are expected to dress to go downstairs to get coffee. The hotel website states that you can request a coffee maker for your stay but only based on availability. We stayed at the hotel for five nights and I was never offered a coffee maker, even though I had requested one before we left home. Not having coffee in the room is a huge oversight by this hotel and inconvenience to their guests.
The bed pillows were plentiful but were some of the worst we have ever slept on. All the pillows were lumpy and either flat as a board or too high to comfortably sleep on.
No USB outlets in any of the rooms. Not even a hub plugged in somewhere. Had to look for outlets to charge multiple items.
The furniture in the living room needs replacing. The sofa was outdated and uncomfortable. They need to replace the tall table with one that is coffee table height. Difficult to sit on the soft and watch TV with the table in the way.
We couldn't regulate the A/C. It was either really stuffy in the room with the balcony doors closed (too much traffic noise) or freezing cold.

We loved our stay at The Hotel Giraffe. We were there for 6 nights in March and stayed in a King room, it was very spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was more comfortable than our own. We had breakfast included in our fee which was a selection of toasted bagels, spreads, fruit, etc which set us up for the day. Loved the poppy seed bagels! Service was excellent, nothing we took much trouble - we asked for a mini fridge in our room and one was installed the next day.
The absolute best thing was the location - quieter area which suited us, less people around, round the corner from Madison Square Park. Both 23rd and 28th Street stations are close by for the 6 train and R & W train which took us everywhere we wanted to go. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again when we next visit NYC.

Excellent bed linens and fluffy pillows. Black out curtains made sleeping pleasant and very little street noise traveled to the third floor of our suite.
When I requsted champagne flutes and a bucket of ice, the delivery was prompt with pleasantly completed.
The level of service in every regard was worthy of 5 stars.
Early checkin was a breeze and so was check out.
A very nice restaurant is across the street where we stopped for a night cap.

What a wonderful stay. The hotel is conveniently located in NOMAD with many restaurants within a short walk. The staff was attentive and hospitable from the moment of our arrival. The room was spacious and well appointed, actually still having a dresser, a desk, and multiple chairs while many hotels today barely have a closet big enough to hold your clothes. The linens were lovely, the bathroom was well equipped. Perhaps the best amenity was that the daily resort fee included a generous continental breakfast and coffee and snacks throughout the day. We wil definitely stay here again.

It was my first time in New York and had a hard time searching for hotels with a good amount of space yet not too expensive until I found Hotel Giraffe!
Stayed in the Classic King Suite which has a separate bedroom and living area which has a sleeper sofa. This was perfect as there were three of us staying in the room and we did not feel it was crowded because of the ample space. The rooms were well maintained and cleaned daily which was nice after a full day of walking around the city.
There were refreshments readily available by the lobby 24/7 and daily continental breakfast is also included. The bagels were always served fresh and warm!
The staff were also very helpful and welcoming! During our check in, we were allowed to check in early. When we had to keep some hotdogs we were bringing home kept frozen before our flight, that was also accommodated!
I would definitely come back to Giraffe Hotel when im back in New York and recommending it to my friends!
