Few places in NY offer this Old NY hotel experience. Great place for first time visitors. And it is magical at Christmas! I like to bring first time visitors here but do warn that it is an old hotel with old hotel challenges. Best Locationt! Safe area, Walking distance to all the things you want to see. Time square, Rockefeller...

Mixed reviews on here but we found the hotel to be great . It is old and very regal, not a modern hotel. Bar staff are a bit rude , no customer service and took a long time to get served but wouldn't mark it down for that obviously not English lol Our room was a lot bigger than expected...

I was there for a conference. Hotel service was excellent. Any difficulties, with the tv for example, were resolved in a professional and polite way and very quickly, An especially good location if you plan be attending plays. A number of theatres are just down the street.

My stay was terrible. I stayed two nights, was overcharged by $286.58 for a room that (a) did not have hot water (b) did not have a working tv (c) had a toilet that did not flushproperly. My suggestion: Check the room before you drop off your bags and run back out. Check your bill before you run out for...

It is pleasant to leave home and find a hotel where they make you feel like your still there. This has been my hotel for the last 5 years and every-time I stay here I leave with a smile ! It may not have the luxuries the new hotels have but they sure know whats is hospitality ! And I...

Few working elevators for 1000 room hotel. Bathroom was extremely cramped. Shower faucet and handles in poor condition. Woodwork and tile not good. Electrical outlets in lamps were faulty or loose. Love historical buildings, but the upkeep is critical to maintain charm and it's missing here. Unless you use a bellman for your luggage, you have to go up a...

The Roosevelt Hotel is well situated - between Madison and Fifth Avenues, and around the corner from Grand Central Station. The architecture in the public areas is classic New York, the bedrooms unmemorable and average, the bathrooms small and in dire ned of upgrading. The elevators were apparently being upgraded during our stay - we saw no sign of this,...

The Roosevelt was a very charming hotel. Not modern at all which added to its charm. It was very well kept and perfectly comfortable. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights, we were able to check in early which is always a bonus, and had a lovely little corner room with a walk in closet, ample bathroom and very...

Stayed for my wife's 30th birthday. Bit apprehensive after reading some reviews but shouldn't have worried. Checking staff were very friendly (in fact all staff at the hotel we found to be good). room was spacious and bed very comfy. Location is excellent but can be very noisy (which is not the hotels fault) Only negative was I emailed in...

My wife and I loved our stay at The Roosevelt. After reading all the reviews I was doubtful of what we were going to find but from the moment we step in to the moment we left we couldn't be more happier. The room we were given was big and the bed was so comfortable. Our view was nice and...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
