One star is too generous a rating for this place. Where to start?! Well you enter this lovely looking hotel with fantastic lobby area you think this sets the tone for the rest of the hotel; we thought we'd definitely chosen well. We booked this hotel 6 months ago to get there at 3pm and the room not be ready.... More

We went here for a city break with our children, the hotel is very well situated, close to many of the tourist attractions all within walking distance, also close to station so easy to get about. The rooms are pretty basic and on the small side, a family room for four of us was two double beds, not a massive... More

I took 3 15-year olds to visit NYC and we stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is beautifully restored and was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The downside is the room size. We were in a Double, which was sufficient for our needs since we weren't in the room much, but was pretty small.... More

Currently seating at the Roosevelt waiting for room service. We were assigned a room in the 12th floor. Love the room. Yeah it does have an older style but it is a good size, very clean, has functioning windows and our bathroom is huge. We did pay extra for a deluxe room so maybe that is why but is was... More

Stayed in this hotel yesterday. Put in a room that wouldn't look out of place in a hostel. Decor was more than tired. Bathroom awful and so dated , warm water not hot. Bed room tiny and so tired. Room was unbelievably hot and air condition machine so noisy. The reception and lobby area was lovely hiding the fact that... More

I will admit that when we all first arrived at the hotel, the lobby was very beautiful. But I promise that you'll get over it after the first night because what followed for us was very terrible service. One of the main things expected from any decent hotel is free wifi, which this hotel does not have even though they... More

When I booked the hotel is wanted something that looked 'new york'! It was a beautiful hotel with a fantastic lobby area and situated in a perfect location to get to a lot of the attractions, all within 15 minutes walk of the hotel. the only negative comment I have is about the blokes on the front door..they would much... Stepping into the lobby you realize this is a hotel of a bygone era that has held onto its old time charm. The staff who checked us in were extremely pleasant and apologized we had to wait for the group in front of us. Knowing check in can be a real hassle at other NYC hotels, the apology wasn't necessary.... More

Old and quite splendid in the lobby area. Staff friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, wifi works well. Room clean, albeit a bit worn. But great value for money right in the middle of the city.

Booked the Roosevelt through Expedia and when I arrived the front desk pointed out the small print in the booking advisory: there's an additional $20 "resort fee" charge per night that they put onto your credit card for internet use and some crummy discount vouchers for their bars/restaurants. It's a pricing policy I find annoying so the Roosevelt get no... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
