Stayed for one night, very basic room and bathroom was rather disgusting with stains and mold. It did it's job for one night but maybe spend less time on the ornate lobby and more times renovating the guest rooms

We stayed at The Roosevelt over Christmas and it was wonderful. Excellent Christmassy atmosphere, helpful staff, comfortable rooms and the best possible location. I would most certainly stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

We arrived on the 21st December, so New York was overflowing with Christmas tourists (just like us) so we were keen to just get to the hotel and relax. However when we arrived, the staff told us that they had double booked our room so weeded not best pleased!!! However they then offered to upgrade us to the governors suite...

Great location in NYC - walking distance to many sites. Lobby beautifully decorated for Christmas. Comfortable chairs to relax and watch the steady stream of people from so many different countries. Nice bar overlooking lobby and great place to have a glass of wine or simple breakfast. Our room was spacious and larger than most rooms I've stayed at in...

The Roosevelt offers friendly service, good value and a great midtown location. An easy walk to a number of Manhattan activities, restaurants and shopping venues. My room was clean and the common areas were nicely decorated, well-lit and clean as well. This is a very old (iconic, in fact) hotel, with some recent updates. I think it's lovely, but if...

The Roosevelt Hotel is very inviting with a grand lobby area for sitting, people watching and grabbing a cup of coffee or breakfast. A huge part of my overall rating is the quality of bed since that makes or breaks a hotel for me. These beds were wonderful, not to soft, not to hard and for sleeping in a different...

Great location for our agenda and very pretty BUT problems with elevators and long waits. We, fortunately, were on the 3rd floor so we did not mind so much taking the stairs. For those staying on higher floors, this was probably a major inconvenience. Two mornings woke up with no hot water for showers. Not good when you are going...

This was my second stay at The Roosevelt and it was a marked improvement over the first time. I found the staff to be helpful, and the room was clean and cozy, and the bed was large and comfortable. Overall I was pleased and perhaps my true rating is closer to 3.5. The hotel is apparently going through renovations although...

Overall, I had a somewhat pleasant weekend experience at The Roosevelt because I am flexible and don't sweat the small stuff. That said, I don't believe I will return because I was not sold on the location and the sheer volume of tourists at these large hotels are just too much for me. First, be realistic - do not expect...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
