We just returned from a two night stay to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with friends. Trying to find a hotel under $200 per night for the memorial holiday weekend, we ended up using priceline name your own price and got this hotel ($181 + tax and fees per night). The location was great--just a few blocks to our Broadway...

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. Overall the hotel was just ok. Number one complaint was the speed of the elevators. We often had to wait for a couple to stop before we found one with space. We even resorted to climbing 16 flights of stairs. By the end of our stay we learned to go in the opposite...

We recently came back from New York City for the first time. This hotel is gorgeous! The room was TINY! We were not expecting big...the hotel was built in 1924, so the rooms reflect that. The elevators were a low point. A 5 minute wait on your floor was average...14 floors up - the walk was tempting. Breakfast was very...

First impressions are very good at the Roosevelt. It's a beautiful piece of New York history and is well maintained. Our room was lovely and well suited to our needs. The location is a short walk to Grand Central Station, which was great for our needs. We used trains and subway from there. We were less than pleased with the...

Old-style hotel, with sumptuous lobby and excellent location (easy to get cabs or subway, easy to walk many places, and superb if you need to go further afield by commuter train). We stayed for 3 nights, got king bed with quite a bit of space around it, recently updated. You can tell that underneath the coat of paint is quite...

This hotel is more than ready for a complete update. The management has figured it is better to be at a low price point for Midtown than compete on quality.. The public spaces are nice and the staff is trying but the rooms are a major let down. I had an upgraded room which was good sized but that was...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is located right by Grand Central Terminal, Time Square, 5th Ave. Had easy access to all the places we visited just because Grand Central was so close. Just hopped on the subway and off we went. Stayed there for four nights. Hotel is very nice, staff is very friendly, rooms are...

The location of this hotel is excellent. Walking distance from Times Square and 5th Ave. That is the good part. Now let us get to the bad part. Stayed there for 2 nights on May 21 and 22. Check in was fine. The room just smelled. The washroom is tiny and it is tired and old. No room to put...

Had an excellent experience in this well-situated hotel. The room was comfortable and had a refrigerator. The hotel staff who checked us in and out were very accommodating. The hotel concierges were extremely helpful, particularly Wendy. She gave us invaluable assistance in navigating the city. Would definitely stay again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
