It's a lovely building, lovely rooms, wonderful courtyard, delicious breakfast, and personable staff. And the location is primo. Just one problem: Our room (22) had bedbugs. I woke up at 4AM itching, took out a light, and killed 4 that were full of my blood. Since I react badly to bites, that kind of wrecked the night's sleep and my...

Absolutely loved this place. Older architecture, elegant features and very nice and accommodating staff. Room was clean and well appointed with lovely touches such as chocolates, fresh flowers and upscale soaps and shampoo. Free parking right behind motel, great food nearby (we loved the seafood place right across the street) and right around the corner from main boulevard with lots...

Check-in was quick and easy. Parking is in back (free). The desk will give you a paper to put on your dash. Our room (#16) was overlooking the garden terrace with a fountain. We opened the windows and felt a nice cool breeze and listened to the water trickling from the fountain and it felt wonderful. The bed was cozy,...

Wonderful visit! No, it's not the Ritz Carlton, but our room was definitely clean. The aged decor gives the place a quaint feel. I'm already the type of person who ALWAYS wears flip-flops in shared spaces like hotels, no matter where I stay, even in the shower. So bleach stains on the carpet are.... Irrelevant to me. Breakfast provided by...

I REALLY wanted to like this hotel. I did. I always prefer boutique hotels to chains, but in this case, I should have stayed at the Best Western. There are a few positives to note. This place is in a great location. The gal working at the front desk was very sweet and clearly cared about doing a good job....

Perfect location for a relaxing Ventura get-a-way. Older, but clean, quaint and quiet. Some nice and appreciated touches... Made to order breakfast is included. The pancakes were really good. Wine, cheese and fruit was offered on Saturday night. The other nights wine was served. The first night chocolates were left on our pillow. Bottle water was restocked every day by...

I came to support a friend in the marathon. CUSTOMER SERVICE: From beginning to end, from the moment I first walked in the door until I checked out, every employee of the hotel gave a clinic on what excellent customer service is about. Each interaction I had with an employee was genuine and not merely a polite formality (ever had...

visited this hotel last year and enjoyed the ambiance, the breakfast (included in the price of the room), and a great European feel... but tried to book a room the other night. sadly the person who answered the phone (after 6-8 rings) said there were too many different rates to give me over the phone and i had to come...

Having an ultra active couple days exploring small towns of California from San Diego up to San Francisco, my husband and I have decided that we need some sleep before we continue to move further. We have found on a map a small town to crush called Ventura. Though, the town seemed charming and a small downtown B&B we have...

The Bella Maggiore has seen better days, but it is not without its charms, plus it has a resident ghost. Would be great if someone would invest some bucks here, as it has character lacking in newer establishments.
