On the beach with balconies or patios. Old and tattered, except for the beds. Good parking. Great little coffee shop down the street. Perfect place to experience a a southern California beachside community. Lots of dogs on the beach although signs said not allowed. Great...More

So rooms are a little run down, but bed was comfy, balcony overlooks beach, ( actual sand), we paid $190 , weekday, stayed on the 3rd floor, was absolutely worth it in!! Blueberry muffins and TERRIFIC coffee in the morning, I highly recommend

No I think your Maltese would be just fine. It's mainly just outdated, not dirty.
