Marl Inn is a private home Bed and Breakfast. It is situated on a half acre lot, adjacent to the town's original 1691 surveyed lots. Yorktown is a National Landmark where American and French forces won the last battle of the American Revolution. Marl Inn is a half block from the restored Main Street village of Yorktown and two (2) blocks from Yorktown's Riverwalk Landing along the York River. The inn is 2 miles from the Coast Guard Training Center. We are within walking distance of fine restaurants, antique shops, museums and the beach. Bring your bicycles to tour the village, battlegrounds and museums. Take a short walk to the Colonial National Historical Park Visitor Center, at the location of the last major battle of the American Revolutionary War.

Excellent experience! Yorktown is very walkable, and the Marl Inn is right in the mix of it. The place is clean, comfy, and the proprietors are very friendly and knowledgeable of the rich history of the area. We stayed in the Beach Room, private entry, very well stocked with Keurig, extra blankets, towels, and bath products. Especially appreciated the ceiling fan, and the York peppermint patties! Beautifully decorated. The only complaint would be no full length mirror, so I had to assume I looked great for the function we attended. (Husband confirmed!) Breakfast was terrific, fresh fruit, homemade breads, omelette, coffee and juice. The grounds are wonderfully maintained, and the pride of ownership is very evident. I highly recommended Marl Inn B&B if you are in the Yorktown area!

This place was awesome. I booked here primarily because of its proximity to the Coleman Bridge for some work that myself and a co-worker had to accomplish on April 21-22, 2020. We stayed 3 nights. Being this is during a very strange time with Ovid -19. I wasn't even sure they would be open. I called and spoke with Amy and I booked the Garden View Room and my counter part got the Patriot upstairs. Amy greeted us on our arrival and gave us a tour of the property and showed us to our rooms all while maintaining social distancing and Covid protocol. The rooms were immaculate with all the necessities we needed to prepare our own meals and truly decompress after work each day. The rooms were well done and the amenities were perfect. I think I got some of my best sleep every while staying away from home. We were 4 to 6 minutes to our project and 3 miles from the Food Lion to stock with our food stuffs for the duration. When this Covid stuff is all done I would love to bring my wife here for a quiet weekend and truly enjoy all the Inn and Yorktown has to offer. Walking distance to the down town and the Yorktown Battle field makes this a great place. The grounds are well kept and great to look at in the morning and evenings. My only regret was due to the Covid we were not able to take advantage of the Breakfast. I will have to save that for next time. I highly recommend this Inn if you are ever in the Yorktown area or just passing through. Amy made the experience so easy.

Wow! This is truely an amazing and unique B&B. This was our second visit at the Marl Inn. I can't say enough about how comforting it is to drive far and then arrive at the Marl Inn. We arrived shortly after the New Year on New Years Eve and we were greeted so warmly by Paul the owner who was fast to shake our hands warmly and offer to show us our room. It was like coming to see family. The suite was so warm and inviting. The furnishings are so my taste. Amy was so kind to set up an air mattress for our son with a pillow and blankets and sheets just like family would do. After traveling it was nice to have a kitchen ready for our use. The bed is the most comfortable bed we have ever experienced while traveling and the bathroom was sooooo cozy with everything set up that you need and the whole suite was spotless clean and so well kept. Then in the morning Amy and Paul made us an amazing breakfast! Not only did they make us an amazing breakfast they even sat with us to catch up and chat. They are like family! We enjoyed our conversation and Amy and Paul are so kind to each of us. Since we don't have much family it is such a blessing to know Paul and Amy as they are like family to us! We are looking forward to staying at the Marl Inn again some day as it is a perfect fit for our family. Thank you much Amy and Paul for making us feel so welcomed in your home! You both are a blessing! 😊

We rented a studio with a kitchen and living area which was great because we were staying for several days. The room was lovely with a view of the garden and seating outside. The kitchen had everything we needed. The only thing that would improve the room would be a dresser. As we were there for several days, it would have been nice to unpack. There is a bookcase in the bathroom that could be used, but that just didn’t seem convenient.

This B&B is located in Yorktown which is basically a historic site. So initially we were hard pressed to figure out where to get dinner. However, you can easily walk down to the river and there are several restaurants there. Groceries are another matter! You will have to drive to a supermarket to get those. No convenience stores near by.

We did not have the hotel breakfast which is available for an additional charge.

All in all, a pleasant stay. A bit tricky to find, but once you realize that it is basically a National park, it all makes sense.

We were here for a few weekdays, the first week of Oct., a quiet time for tourists. This small Inn, just off Main St. of VERY tiny HISTORIC YORKTOWN, was a good, quiet place for down-time after a day of driving around the county for tourist activities. The Patriot Suite was more like a small apartment, with separate BR, which worked well for us since my husband is an early riser. It has a sofa and loveseat for comfort when reading and TV, kitchenette and table for 2. Pick up a few groceries before you get to town. There isn't a grocery store within the tiny village. Coffee was provided in our kitchenette. It is 2nd floor, ext. stairs, with no balcony. You could bring your own lawn chair down to the backyard or Waterfront to read a book or take a blanket to sit on the sand. It is a very walkable village but there is a fairly big hill down to the waterfront. (The Colonial Parkway was a lovely way to go between Historic Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and the Battlefields and American Revolution Museum of Yorktown but there are no stops for gas, food, bathrooms or anything else. It seemed like it only took us about 1/2 hour from 1 end to the other at this "non-peak tourist time". Coming from SC, we also avoided the VA Beach area by taking the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry.) At this time of Covid there is no gathering in a dining area with other guests for breakfast.

This was my second stay here as I had stayed in May of 2021 for a funeral. I reserved a different room this time and when I arrived, the owner remembered me from almost a year ago, why I had come and a few preferences I had asked about. The inn was not full that night (it was definitely off season). So, she upgraded me to a bigger downstairs room which was great. Both the Yorktown suite (last May) and the Garden view suite (this trip) were both fantastic rooms. Great amenities, great location and the beds both slept great. Walking distance to place to eat, the beach, and other cool stuff. The whole area is beautiful. The owners are so nice and personable, it truly is a much greater experience than a chain hotel. If you are on the fence, don't be. Staying here is a home run. I will absolutely be back.

What a wonderful place to go and be refreshed during COVID and social isolation. The Garden Suite was impeccably clean. I was able to "socially distance" while getting away for a rest in a beautiful location. I spent hours on the private patio, walking around the garden filled with gorgeous blooms, and spent hours walking Yorktown and the Riverfront. A full kitchen was in my suite, so I was able to bring my own food. Amy and Paul were incredibly kind and have such a heart to encourage their patrons. Thank you for such lovely place to rest!

This is a very nice place. It is well-managed, well-appointed and everything works. A nice addition to the room is a phone charger disk. The inn is in a nice location; a lot of the important stuff is Yorktown is within walking distance.
I highly recommend signing up for the breakfast.

I'll never stay anywhere else in Yorktown. Marl Inn is areat location to the riverfront. The Beach Suite was wonderful. Very comfortable bed and sofa. Amy is an impeccable host. I ran out of the dark roast coffee and she made sure she replenished it the next day when she went shopping. The grounds at Marl Inn are simply lovely. It's truly a feel good type of place to stay in the midst of the historic surroundings. Be good to yourself and stay at Marl Inn. I'm so glad that I did.
