We always stay at the Goodbread House for the GA/FL football game and we never want to leave! Marja is an amazing host! Rooms are wonderfully appointed, breakfast is wonderful each morning, and she makes all plans for our side trips to Cumberland and other area activities. We highly recommend a trip to the darling town of St. Mary's and... More

Beautiful decor downstairs, nice location and nice hostesses. The bedroom (Gable & Lombard) needs some updating and the oversized bathroom was the best part. Overall, the house feels like a cross between a dorm and staying at your great aunts house. We didn't eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that but my boyfriend said the homemade cookies were... The Goodbread Inn BnB and old St. Mary's just allows you to slow down and step away from the hustle of modern pressures. The accommodations were very comfortable and the breakfasts, exquisite -- among the best we've had at a BnB. The owner / hostess, Mardja, accommodated us in every possible way -- from arranging our visit to Cumberland Island... More

Couldnt have been nicer. Perfect room that people of a certain age will appreciate. Liked having the apples and drinking wine after dinner with the owner's friends before turning in. I am already planning my return trip.

Nice B&B located very close to the water, walking distance to the Cumberland Island ferry. Each room has a theme relating to a famous couple. A bit tacky but a cute idea nonetheless. The rooms could use some updating and dusting. Corners, baseboards and blinds were very dusty. Breakfast was delicious and conversations with the other guests were very nice.... More

St Mary's is a neat spot with limited places to stay. We were treated very well at Goodbread House but the room was small and rundown. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We do not recommend this Inn if Spencer House is available.

We stayed in the rhett/scarlet suite...the theme is everywhere...the king bed is comfortable, the air conditioning is very good. The bathroom is a kick too..antique claw tub, towels various shades of scarlett. Personal attention to the inn by the owner means we will return. breakfast was delightful, again the decor is funky but so interesting.

What a wonderful place to relax and just get away. The owner of this beautifully decorated, historic home was a joy to talk to and prepared excellent breakfast each morning. The Inn is a short walk from the river front with a nice assortments of restaurants to dine at. The park along the river was a excellent spot to watch... More

We let ourselves in one Sunday afternoon, read a letter addressed to us, and found our room! It was spacious, and felt like we were staying at someone's house! Not a thing about it felt "hotelish" except the soap/shampoo :) Town was quiet (Sunday), and restaurants few, but we did meet Paul, a resident, who ended up taking us on... More

The inn is absolutely gorgeous in the architecture and charming in its host. We had the Rhett and Scarlett room, the room was very large, the bathroom was huge, it still had the original clawfoot tub in it. Mardja, the proprietor was wonderfully sweet and helpful with suggestions for us, and man can she cook 😊 overall it was a... More
