This hotel made my trip worthwhile, I saw the city for what it actually was not just the touristy areas, staying here made me fall in love with the city. The people working here were so nice, helpful, cheery and fun to be around. The reception and the breakfast were my favorite parts followed closely by the modern feel and...

Stayed at the independent for one night and we loved it. Located right next to the historical center of Philly, within walking distance of the independence hall/Liberty bell. Parking is available within one block of the hotel ($23, guarded). Lobby is on the first floor (second in US) and staff is very helpful. They even have some complimentary wine and...

Incredible value for such a beautiful hotel and wonderful location. Not too far to the historic district and the convention center. Beautiful room and pretty city views from the fifth floor. Free breakfast was simple but nice and the parking garage was efficient and safe. Exceptional service overall. There are nice restaurants close and Reading Terminal Market isn't far either.

Are you kidding? 5 hours. That's what we drove to come to this "boutique hotel." Here's a pro tip: don't say you're a boutique hotel. If you have to say you're one, you're not. And you're not We pulled up. No doorman. Pullman. Porter. Nobody. Wife went up to register. Three of us driving down had bags. Not Titanic quantity...

There are many positives about this hotel but also a number of significant negatives. It is looking a bit tired in places but unfortunately its major issues are: noise penetration from slamming doors; music from restaurant kitchen below; lack of view from rooms to the inner side; cheap snack breakfast; no suitable chairs and table in room to eat the...

We stayed here some years ago and loved it, so when planning a weekend in Philly I did not look elsewhere. The Independent is charming and unique. The hotel begins on the second floor. It is very well located, and parking at EZ park is a block away. Staff is both friendly and efficient. A continental breakfast is delivered to...

My son and I stayed for a night this week while he was in town for a medical school interview. This hotel is billed as a boutique hotel which is an accurate description. After an unusual entry through a door on the street into a small foyer which houses an elevator to the 2nd floor lobby for the hotel, you...

We loved staying here because of the location. The room was huge even though we hadn't upgraded. There'd been complaints by other reviewers about the noise.
