The Cambria Hotel Philadelphia wins favor with its prime location, conveniently close to public transportation and key attractions like the Phillies game and City Hall. While the hotel's atmosphere earns plaudits for its stylish and inviting vibe, opinions on the service are divided, with some guests commending the staff's attentiveness and others pointing out service lapses. Room cleanliness and comfort are highlights for many travelers, although some have noted housekeeping and amenity issues. The value proposition is similarly split, with cleanliness and pricing earning praise from some, but others have concerns about service consistency and billing practices.

Great location. Our room was spacious and clean and I liked the layout. As someone who tends to get hot while sleeping, I appreciated having a top sheet as opposed to a comforter with a duvet cover. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I stayed three nights in a corner king room. The room was quite large and had a nice view of Broad Street. The room was remarkably quiet for overlooking Broad Street although there certainly was some street noise at night. The bathroom was clean and the walk in shower was welcome after a day out in the warm weather. The hotel location is great for riding the subway and the Broad Street Line station is very close to the hotel with easy access to the Phillies game. The express train after the Phillies game made its first stop at the station nearest to the hotel. We easily walked to the Reading Street Terminal for breakfast and the Market Frankford Line station to take the subway to the Independence Hall area. We felt safe in the downtown area although we were not out late at night. There are lots of street people so you need to be prepared for them asking for money. All in all, not unlike what we experienced in a recent trip to downtown LA. We did not dine at the hotel as there are lots of nearby restaurants. We did have a drink at the bar and found the bartender to be friendly and a good spokesperson for Philadelphia sightseeing. The only odd thing about the hotel is the soap or rather lack of soap. Upon arrival we noted the bathroom sink had no soap so I asked housekeeping in the nearby hallway for soap. I was informed she had no soap but she gave me a couple of small bottles of shower gel. Not the most convenient way to wash your hands but it worked. Ironically, the shower gel dispenser in the shower was mostly empty upon arrival and never was refilled (we ran out after the first night). Housekeeping serviced the room daily and fortunately left us a couple of those small bottles of shower gel daily so at least we had that. More of an inconvenience than anything but definitely an odd thing. We would stay here again since the room was clean and the location was very convenient.

Thank you for your positive feedback and for mentioning our convenient location. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the lack of soap and shower gel during your stay. Our vendor, who supplies our hotel, recently upgraded their computer system, which has resulted in significant delays of up to three weeks in their deliveries.

Joshua greeted us at the front desk and was an absolute delight. Friendly and funny and happy to give suggestions for where to go in the city. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. I also appreciated that it was quiet in the mornings. Maybe that was just coincidence but there didn’t seem to be an endless barrage of doors slamming in the mornings as people came and went. The one negative was trying to get more towels, as there were 3 of us in a room, proved difficult. It took a full day and 3-4 calls for housekeeping to fulfill this request. My friend had to skip a shower that morning because we couldn’t get more towels. That could definitely be improved. However, upon checkout, I’Kirah was a doll. She was extremely kind and helpful with letting us leave our bags for a few hours post checkout so we could enjoy one final brunch in the city before heading home. She made sure our needs were taken care of. Overall, the hotel was a great stay for a girls weekend in Philly for its location, cleanliness and comfort.

One of the worst hotels I've been to and unhelpful staff and management just doesn't care at all to assist even after a huge mistake. My brother had his wedding block here. Terrible idea. I highly recommend you do NOT do that and just go to double tree right down the street. I made a reservation for two rooms that were connected. I have my two young children who were in the wedding staying with my wife and me. At the time of the reservations months ago I was told no problem. I called a month before the wedding to confirm the request. And the day of the wedding I get there early and try to do early check in at first the response was we don't have any adjourning rooms right now but we'll make sure to do it by the check in time of 4pm. Then I get the call my rooms are available and I'm now speaking to a different front desk manager and was told the rooms are not adjourning and there is nothing that can be done. At that point the wedding is starting within the hour so I put up a mild fight but just didn't have the time or options to handle this. What really caused the straw to break the camels back is when the front desk manager, I believe his name is Steven just completely blew me off for what in my mind is a simple request. My children were upstairs in one of the rooms with a baby sitter. We ordered door dash for them because this pathetic hotel didn't have room service. Keep in mind this is 6:30 pm. How is there no freaking room service. Anyways we got the door dash which arrived. But you need a room key to go up to the rooms understandably due to security. And this joke of a manager almost enjoying not being helpful and not caring at all. We simply asked for Steven or one of his employees a maid, anyone to just bring the food up to the room since we told the babysitter not to leave the children. Bottom line they did not help and had no decency to alleviate a problem caused by them. If I knew my rooms were not going to be adjourning I would have never stayed here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! One last point, there elevators are horrible and taking forever

Don't do it. Where do I begin?
We paid for a suite - with a kitchenette, but there was nothing available in it to use the kitchen - no hand or dish soap, no paper towels, 1 spoon, 1 fork, 1 cup, no plates. Strangely enough the kitchen had a full size refrigerator AND a dishwasher?
At check in, we entered on Broad St. There was no one to direct us at check in, two valet attendants (1st floor) ignored us when we asked where to check in. We found our way to an upper floor which we assumed was check in. We had luggage but there was no bell service. After a long flight and getting to the hotel in the freezing cold it would've been nice to get at least a greeting and some help with our bags.
My keys demagnetized 3 times during my stay and I had to go to the front desk each time to get new keys - but there was no staff at the front desk each day i went.
At breakfast there was no staff to take orders in the Cafe, the chef came out and complained that he was the only one working that day and he had to take, cook, deliver our order to the table. I felt for him but it was really strange.
Housekeeping was pretty much non existent the 5 nights I had booked there. I had to call the desk 3 times over 2 days for an extra blanket and toilet paper. TBH I felt the staff acted as if I was bothering them with just basic requests expected at a hotel. Believe me, I'm the type of hotel guest that doesn't like to contact staff after I check in, I like to keep to myself.

Unfortunately, also, I was given a hard time (with conflicting answers from staff) about getting a refund for 2 nights stay from the 7 nights I booked, I had to check out after 5 nights due to family emergency, and not getting my refund amount promised only added to the stress of everything. It's really too bad because the room overall was big with nice views and comfortable beds but it all needed a deep cleaning.
Just poor management, overall.
Never again. I recommend you stay at the Doubletree right next door.

1. There was only 1 elevator, (one was broken), but the other elevator was reserved for the rooftop instead of opened up for guests. There were wait times upwards of 20+ minutes to use the elevator. Several guests used the stairs.

2. We requested an extra blanket, none was provided, even after 2 days

3. There was no working iron, it was spilling water everywhere. We requested a replacement, no new iron showed up, even after 2 days

4. There was not enough staff at the front desk. Lines during checkin and check out were consistent. I tried to call, and was put on hold, as I watched the front desk staff handle a long line of people and couldn't take my call. Housekeeping never even answered the phone.

5. We couldn't use our room cards to charge the drinks from the lobby bar to the room. The bar tender couldn't figure it out and the front desk was too busy to approach

6. We requested a room high up, away from the elevator. Guess what room we got; the first room by the elevator.

8. Trying to get to the rooftop bar requires guests to go all the way down to the lobby to use the roof elevator. That seems crazy as we have guest keys to activate the elevator and reach the top floor. This prevented us from going up to the roof, as it would have taken way too long given the lines at the elevator.

9. Upon entering the rooftop bar, we noticed that the fire exit was blocked by the equipment from the DJ, and not just a portable table.

10. For the wedding guests who were staying in the hotel, the bridge provided welcome bags that were to be left in the rooms of her guests. We never received such a welcome bag. When she asked for them back since none of her guests received them, they handed her 2 empty boxes. Seems like someone else received them or took them.

This hotel needs a management shape up. The stay was a disaster all around and we were in the hotel only to sleep. First of all, the rooms are not kept clean (we had to change the first room we were assigned because of the presence of a dirty sanitary napkin by one of the beds). Second room assigned, cleaning service came late and barely made the beds. The bathroom was untouched.
Breakfast: had to wait for about forty minutes to be served a stale croissant and days old fruit.
We were given only one key to the room and could not get a second one because the “IT engineer” was not available.
For this kind of lack of quality in the service one can definitely go to cheaper hotels that are equally sketchy.
Not an experience to be repeated.

Spent 4 nights in king corner room which was very spacious and comfortable. However be aware that there can be some street noise. Breakfast not included. For 2 mornings of our stay was a buffet breakfast and the other 2 a menu. Bar meals were excellent and so were the craft beers on draft. Self laundry at hotel is one washer and one dryer at $3 for each - quarters available from reception.

Staff on reception and in the bar were friendly.

Hotel located within walking distance to Reading Terminal Market which has numerous food outlets. Also within walking distance to Liberty Bell. Took a very interesting tour of the Masonic Hall behind City Hall.

I would like to file a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at the Cambria Hotel. On the second night of my stay, housekeeping left dirty washcloths and towels in my room but took the foot towel. Then, on the third night, all towels were removed from my room leaving me with nothing to take a shower with. Additionally, when I attempted to contact the front desk for assistance, there was no answer. Upon going down to the front desk in person, I was informed that there were no clean towels available, and staff members were unaware of their whereabouts. This inconsistency in service and lack of responsiveness is highly disappointing and unacceptable.

I stayed the night at Cambria to see Lion King (which is literally right across the street). This hotel stay was not on my initial travel itinerary until I realized my ticket for the show was the day before I was originally arriving into town. I arrived very early (11:30AM) and was pleasantly surprised that a room was available for me to check in. They also held my suitcase for me while I was out "adventuring" until I could go to my next travel stop.

This hotel is located in a fantastic spot for site seeing. It is across street from Kimmel and Academy of Music, just down the street from City Hall (you can see this when stepping out of the hotel), a quick walk to many restaurants, Independence Hall and historic sites, and Reading Terminal. As a solo traveler I felt safe walking around by myself and my feet had quite a workout with everything I saw.

The room was clean, nice bathroom, plenty of space, and AC that worked amazing given how hot it was outside. My room faced the busy Broad Street but was quiet. I would happily stay here again.

I really don't know as I did not have access to all corner rooms....but in our room the window was very small and did not overlook anything but the alley below. This did not concern us as we knew it would be a quiet room without all the traffic. It's a nice place.
