I travelled to philly for a job interview at Penn hospital and wanted to be somewhere close to hospital campus so I chose to stay at Spruce Hill due to location and I was very surprised with the warm welcome, wonderful atmosphere and amazing hospitality of Janet, the innkeeper. She does everything she can to make your stay as comfortable...

The host Janet was exceedingly hospitable. The room was warm and well-decorated. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was continental from Whole Foods plus made-to-order eggs. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return for our next trip to Philly.

I was back in Philly for Christmas and stayed once again at Spruce Hill Manor. As with the first time I stayed there (last August), the experience was great. I must say Philadelphia is probably becoming my favorite American city and Spruce Hill Manor and its owner, Janet, are playing no lesser role in it. You certainly feel so much...

We stayed at Spruce Hill last weekend and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Instead of a boring box hotel room downtown, the B&B gave us charm and quirkiness. The owner, Janet, was absolutely lovely, doing everything from driving us to the closest subway stop "because it's too cold to walk" to scrabbling around in her personal effects...

The best thing about Spruce Hill manor is the host, Janet – incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful. The home is fairly old with several rooms to choose from. Ours was very spacious with its own mini-kitchen. We enjoyed the pastry and tea selections available at all hours of the day in the dining area.

We chose Spruce Hill as our place to stay while on a five day vacation to the Philly area. It was a wonderful choice! The rooms are lovely, but the true charm of Spruce Hill is the owner, Janet. From the moment we arrived Janet was there to make us feel immediately at home and welcome. When we walked into...

Spruce Hill Manor was the perfect place to stay for a weekend in Philadelphia! The rooms were charming and exactly as pictured on the webiste. Janet, the innkeeper, was wonderful and extremely accommodating. Breakfast in her dining room was the best with quiche, wonderful breads, and coffee, juice, etc. The inn is located within walking distance of several good eating...

My wife and I stayed at Spruce Hill Manor in October to celebrate our anniversary. We could not have picked a better B&B. Janet set a new standard in hospitality! She made every effort to make our weekend special. This included a free room upgrade and a surprise bottle of wine and a souvenir gift to remember our stay. Additionally,...

I recently went to Philadelphia for an interview and chose to stay at the Spruce Hill Manor because it is very close to where I had to be. I felt welcome from the moment Janet opened the door for me. My room was beautiful and inviting, and so comfortable that I overslept even though I had been sleeping horribly when...

I recently visited Philadelphia for a licensing exam and stayed 3 nights in the Spruce Hill Manor. Before I came Janet promoted my staying in one of her best rooms for a lesser price. Janet arranged my everything I needed for my preparation including ironing my clothes before exam. Since it was raining she drove me to the place of...
