Unlike a lot of the reviewers here I stayed in the basic "Rustic" room with a single bed, so I can't compare it to the amenities of the Deluxe. It was really wonderful! A little small, which I don't mind at all, and impeccably clean....More
The Roosevelt Inn is simply the best old-fashioned motel we have ever stayed in. It is spotless, well maintained and updated: for example, the rustic rooms have knotty pine walls but also perfectly working Wi-fi. The owners are very friendly and attentive. The "coffee shop"...More
The Roosevelt Inn is a classy step up from typical hotels/motels. It's perfectly clean, well maintained, well decorated, comfortable and convenient. The flower boxes outside the rooms are a beautiful touch. There's an adorable coffee shop that guests have access to in the mornings for...More
I booked this inn for two nights for the sole purpose of visiting this cute Town of Hyde Park, NY, the birth, residence and final resting place of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt.

We spent all day at the FDR estate/library, so make sure you give yourself enough time there. and... Don't forget to check out the walk over the Hudson.

Everything is very close. Drive your own vehicle to the FDR Museum and House Visitor's Center. There is ample parking. From here you purchase your tickets for your various tours. Take the shuttle bus to the Eleanor sites because parking is extremely limited there. Seriously small. The ride is less than 5 minutes from the Visitor's Center. From the Eleanor site you can walk up the hill to meet for the Top Cottage, or book a tour with the ride up there. You can only take a shuttle bus to Top Cottage, and it is about 15 minutes from the main Visitor's Center.
Can't help with the CIA. It was closed when we were there.
If you haven't planned on the Vanderbilt Mansion, add it to your trip. It's magnificent.
We stayed at the Roosevelt Inn right in town, and on a nice day, you can walk to the Vanderbilt Mansion.
