We host groups from all over the country and the world mostly for team & leadership development, natural history exploration, reunions and occasionally a wedding. We feel remote on our 6,000 acres although we are only 1 hour from Colorado Springs. We specialize in helping customize events. Most client groups are repeat (70% +) and many of these visit with different participants multiple times a year, and have done so for 15-20+ years.

I was only here for a night with a work function, but can't wait to come back! The setting is beautiful, and the space worked well for our small-ish meeting. We didn't get to do any outdoor activities (like ropes course), and was too windy for the fire pit at night, which was a

Our group consisted of almost 100 individuals, ranging in age from 3 to 93. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and The Nature Place staff gets high marks for accommodating our reunion so well. As others have mentioned, the food is good, plentiful and served cafeteria style. If you

Thank you for your kind words 4Chattanooga! It sounds like you captured a lot of what The Nature Place has to offer...the fun activities, beautiful hiking trails, the amazing views from the Pikes Peak deck, the high quality of our food and accommodations, and our caring and experienced staff. Most important - you were able to enjoy the benefits of being outdoors in a safe envirionment! We plan to enhance the the value of the Pikes Peak deck by enlarging it and adding more shade. Verizon offers the best cell service here - however, we are told that our internet speed and bandwidth is one of the best on this side of Pikes Peak. Of course, at 8600 feet in elevation - staying hydrated and using sunscreen are very important for everyone. We help groups plan activities to be easier at the beginning of group's stays in order to allow for easier acclimatization. We hope you come back again.

I attend a conference twice a year at the Nature Place, and they consistently do an amazing job. The food is great, the scenery is beautiful, and the staff is very accommodating. True, cell service is spotty, but that's not their fault, and, to be honest, it's kind of nice

Thanks Krystal D. We are glad that you feel that we consistently do an amazing job. We are weighing the benefits of putting a cell booster in VS the benefit of being more disconnected - in our very connected and busy world. Some groups actually ask us to turn the access to internet off during their visit. Part of our mission is to allow people the time and space for them to be "disconnected" so that they can focus on being more connected to what is important to them at the moment. Many are seeing value in this approach, it seems more than in the past.

Do you have room available Aug 31 2015 for the night?
You will need to contact them directly to determine whether or not they can accommodate you. TripAdvisor probably isn't the best way to contact this retreat center. Good luck.

Does each apartment in the cabin have their own bathroom?
Hi Frozeninmn, Yes, each apartment has its own bathroom, and most have been recently renovated!

"As a retreat center, don't expect a standard hotel room. The rooms are much better, more like a suite."
"Rooms are all about the same. Vaulted ceilings and stone fireplaces. But you go to your room to sleep."
"Ask for the newly renovated ones, but then again it depends what your looking for. The 4 person room is great as it has all you need and a living area...."
"You really can't go wrong. If you are having a family reunion, be sure someone stays in the Ponderosa Suite."
