I just rented a room last week and was disappointed with my experience. I arrived at night, and had trouble locating the office, especially since the lights were turned off. Another tourist came along and helped. I then could not find my room. I think it would be safer for guests if they added reflective signs and turned on porch... More

I loved Prude Ranch. Everyone was really nice. I felt like a kid at summer camp again. It was so much fun riding horses, running through trees playing paintball, hiking and feeding animals in the petting zoo. The room was clean, the food was comforting and guilt free after a long day playing. The air is fresh and the sunrises... More

This was my first time to West Texas and it was quite an amazing experience. I love the authenticity of Prude Ranch. It is really something. The staff was very helpful and even helped me out when our flight out of El Paso was cancelled. They were very accommodating. Also, the price is great! I will definitely be coming back.... More

We had an amazing stay here. What a great rustic adventure! My kids loved the horse rides. Our cabin was quant and lovely. We had some problems with a light in our room and management fixed it immediately. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend coming here for any occasion. The proximity to the McDonald observatory is perfect for... More

We have stayed at the Ranch multiple times. On previous occasions we have had a great time and good memories. The setting is awesome there but our last stay was very disappointing. We read some of the other recent reviews & I agree with the fact that management needs to do some upgrades & clean up the interior. We were... More

Acting on a tip from a local for an affordable place to sleep, I stopped at the Prude Ranch, and I'm very happy I did. Spacious and clean, the room has rustic decor, a king bed, two bunk beds, two sinks, and a shower. It was a pleasure to sleep without the A/C on. Even though a group of elementary... More

This property could be a complete gem. Instead, the current owners are letting it deteriorate to the point of seediness. In May of 2013, the GM replied to a complaint of dirtiness that the new housekeeping staff was "working on it". HOW LONG CAN IT TAKE? It is now two years later and the rooms are still dirty! "Big Spurs"... More

The perfect Getaway to Getaway! You can do nothing or you can do everything. Stay at Ranch and sit on porch and just look at the magnificent mountains and watch the day go by. Or go into town and hit all the neat little shops, museums and art galleries in Ft. Davis, Alpine and Marfa, Very nice and feiendly staff.... More

We upgraded from a bunkhouse to a hillside cabin. The bunkhouses are for larger numbers of people and very economical but we felt like we'd be rattling around in there by ourselves, thus the upgrade. The hillside cabins are great. View from porch was very pretty. Rooms don't have TV or phone but internet works. We were here to participate... More

I stayed at Prude Ranch for several days for the Texas Star Party, which is held annually on-site. I was impressed by the staff's friendliness and by the property itself. The views of the nearby hills are fantastic, and it's very quiet and tranquil outside. Fort Davis and Davis Mountains State Park (a hidden gem) are only a few minutes... More
