This is the second time that we have stayed at the H E Sproul Ranch while visiting west Texas. The first trip was in March 2009; the most recent trip was last week (July 2014). The property has so much potential as the setting in the midst of the Davis Mountains is visually spectacular. HOWEVER...unless you are taking part in...

We stayed at the Harvard Sproul Ranch for three nights with our two kids. On the positive side, the rooms were nicely appropriated and the bunk bed was a hit with the kids. The rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave (helpful since there's no food available on site), and the view is beautiful. It is very peaceful. However, there were...

I travel for a living and stay in a lot of places like the Sproul. Rarely do I come across a place as dialed in as the Harvard lodge. The entire staff is amazing and accommodating and the owners are great people. I have now stayed there five times and can't wait to go back. Scenery is absolutely amazing and...

It had incredible views, was very quiet as it is 2.5 miles off main road. We hiked to the top of a local mountain and views were incredible. The pool area is beautiful. The room was decorated in good taste for a ranch. The resident dogs, horses, mule, donkey were so sweet and friendly, we very much enjoyed playing with...

We just spent 2 nights at the Harvard Lodge, and we were very happy there. It is accessed by a 2 1/2 mile dirt road, so you are well off the beaten path. It was peaceful, the views were stunning, and the pool had a shady area where I could sit in comfort while my child swam. The staff at...

The Sproul Ranch is a great place to relax. We stayed for the Memorial Day Weekend traveling with two other couples. Even though all 6 suites were occupied the owners made us feel at home. The pool and jacuzzi area is breathtaking with the waterfall overlooking the expansive view of the ranch property. We used the great BBQ and bar...

This hotel was great! We were in Fort Davis for 4 nights. We had booked all 4 nights at The Lympia Hotel a few weeks before our arrival. Upon check in and seeing our room we were very unhappy with The Lympia. We checked out and asked for a referral. One of the hotels they referred us to was The...

We spent several days at Sproul Ranch because we wanted a relaxing getaway. Our stay was perfect! One morning,we booked a jeep tour and it was incredible. Mason was an excellent tour guide. I've lived in Texas my whole life, and I've never seen views as beautiful as the ones we saw that morning. We saw mule deer, antelope, and javelina....

Looking for an off-the-beaten track start to a trip to the Davis Mountains and beyond, we started here. We chose this ranch, located ~7mi from downtown Ft. Davis - 5mi of paved road, 2 of good gravel/dirt (n.b. navigable in standard sedan, even in middle of the dark night). Stayed in one of the 5 or 6 lodge rooms, which...

As a last minute change in plans for a class trip to Big Bend, we quickly and successfully booked the entire ranch to house 24 people for 2 nights. Bo was very friendly and helpful in arranging the reservations on short notice. The Ranch was gorgeous and comfortable. Wesley came by to check on us and see if we needed...
