We loved the location of the hotel. When we checked in, only one person was on duty and it made for a lengthy wait. The room was fine, but I'm not crazy about having the sink in the room. Convenient in some ways, but not my preference. Did create better privacy, though. Housekeeping never made it to our room. We...

We had a nice stay at the Indigo in early April. Booked on Hotwire at a decent rate. It is a nice newish boutique hotel in a great location. Easy walking to all of the sites. Service was good and they have free coffee in the lobby in the morning and water all day. One good tip, save a bunch...

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Indigo. All of the staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel was clean, modern, and quiet. I was concerned when I read reviews that the nearby bars were loud, but we stayed on the side overlooking Ellis Square and we heard nothing. The only downside to this hotel is the cost...

Slow check in. During busiest time one clerk went on break and I was still in line when she returned 20 minutes later. Towels racks pulling out of wall with plaster dust on sink area Had to request each day to have room cleaned and was done after 6pm Room cleaning forgot clean cups and glasses and bath mat Entire...

We stayed here two nights and upgraded our room to a suite. The front desk is a delight, very friendly and accommodating along with the valet staff. Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking Bay Street so it was a bit noisy but updated nicely and not the hotels fault.

Hotel indigo is very nice. Rooms and lobby really nice. Staff friendly. Complimentary coffee and ice water throughout the day in lobby was appreciated. Hal, the concierge was friendly and helpful. Front desk staff was nice but wait was a bit long. The restaurant at the hotel - good food but service was quite slow. Housekeeping staff were friendly but...

The hotel is right in the centre of everything you could want to see in Savannah. The humans (staff) were great. They were all super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The bartender at the hotel bar was great - a good conversationalist. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Nothing but...

Substandard staff. Bed comfortable but room nothing special. "City View" is of alley. Took an eternity to check in. Front desk tried to up-sell every single person we painfully watched them check in at a snail's pace. Good location.

We chose the Hotel Indigo because of its location and reviews here on Trip Advisor. It was right on the river so an easy walk to the riverfront shops and attractions as well as to the city market. There was even a trolley stop right outside of the hotel, which was perfect! (We took Old Town Trolleys which we have...

We stayed here for an overnight couples trip. We stayed in a King Suite at a discounted rate. The full price was quite expensive and I wouldn't have paid that for the room. The room was decorated beautifully but could have used more overhead lighting. The bedroom was separate and had amazing windows that overlooked the river. We had a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect mix of old and new. Our building—known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay" due to her sweeping size—was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned historic district. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located right next door. Then embark on one of the many fascinating tours Savannah has to offer; at least five of the city's iconic squares are located within roughly five blocks of our front door. Learn about the city's storied past before making your way down original cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food in restaurants that were once historic warehouses. ... more   less
