Location was the only good thing about this hotel. Would have been disappointed even if cost was a lot less. Room and bathroom was very small and not every clean. Asked concierge for assistance with reservation for the Mercer House and never heard back from him. I got the impression that all the staff wasn't very well-trained. Our room was...

Thought we would love staying at the Indigo as it was rated fairly highly BUT that has not been our experience. Firstly, the room was not very clean...crumbes on the floor next to the bed and hiar in the shower...yuck. The rooms are very small....barely room to turn around and definitely not enough room to open up 3 mid-sized suitcases....

The first day we walked into a room with half used bottle of lotion and black hairs on the bathroom floor. The next day after touring all day my mom and I walked into a filthy dirty sink from washing our faces the previous night and dirty coffee cups. The room was in complete disarray. Third day, the room WAS...

I stayed here with my dog for 2 nights while on a road trip and stopped in Savannah. The location is great - you can be at City Market or on the waterfront in a few minutes in either direction. And there's a trolley pick-up (for both companies) right outside the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The valet...

The first room we checked into had a TV that wasn't working, and after a visit from engineering it still was not working so we requested a different room. It was also a very noisy room - we could hear trucks going by outside as well as construction noise. I noticed that one of the pillow cases on the bed...

Stayed at Hotel Indigo while moving our daughter into her college dorm at SCAD. After a long day my wife and I returned to the room to find that our used towels were removed but not replaced and the room was not cleaned at all nor the beds made. This was disappointing in and of itself. However mistakes do happen...

Stayed only one night but loved it. Rooms are nicely done. Great location and short walk to the River Front. Has restaurant and bar but unfortunately did not have time to experience them. Will definitely consider next time in Savannah.

My wife and I were traveling from the Florida Keys and she had picked this area to stay the night, everything was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and in the morning we had a great breakfast in the dining room. Jamilla was our server and she was the nicest person you could hope to meet, especially...

Okay let me start by saying I'm picky so consider the source, but I was just a little let down by Hotel Indio. I just hate people that complain about little things but when you pay $300+ for a room you become a that snob who expects the best. Ha. When we first checked in we were carrying about 3...

When I saw the latest review before mine, their title captured exactly how I felt about this hotel. We came for the 3 day St. Patricks Day festival and this hotel had us exactly where we wanted to be. Right across the street from the River Walk and a stones throw from the park thats next to Paula Deens place....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect mix of old and new. Our building—known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay" due to her sweeping size—was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned historic district. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located right next door. Then embark on one of the many fascinating tours Savannah has to offer; at least five of the city's iconic squares are located within roughly five blocks of our front door. Learn about the city's storied past before making your way down original cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food in restaurants that were once historic warehouses. ... more   less
