I booked on a third-party site as it was recommended by them. First, it's in a weird part of town, and confusing to get to. Second, the lobby looked Okay, but when we got off the elevator I was completely thrown off guard. There was paint missing from the walls EVERYWHERE. Once we got into the room it just kept going downhill. Two double beds, which these days a "standard" room is two queens. Again, Paint missing everywhere, a super cheap vinyl roll-down shade, and everything just felt like maybe it was nice when they opened, but no one made any effort since that time to keep the place up. THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN! I could hear the people next door talking like they were sitting next to me, and later that night......heard someone snoring so clearly we may as well have been sharing a room. This place was the type where you definitely check the beds for bugs, and that is not what they are portraying themselves as online, nor is that the price point they are at.

THIS HOTEL IS A PIT! IT IS IN DEPLORABLE CONDITION, SO HORRIBLE THAT WE COULD NOT STAY IN THE ROOM. I TOLD THE DESK AND THE HOTEL REFUSED TO REFUND OUR MONEY! I HAVE WORKED IN THE HOTEL BUSINESS FOR 25 YEARS AND THIS WAS THE MOST DISGUSTING HOTEL I HAVE EVER SEEN!

I would suggest calling the hotel and asking for some help from a manager, if you have not already done so. When we arrived at the hotel on May 28th, unbeknownst to me, my friend and I were placed in dog friendly rooms, 118 and 119. In addition to having severe allergies to pet dander, we were appalled at the odor in our respective rooms. We returned to the front desk to make it known there were issues with our rooms. Stains, odors...general conditions. We asked if we could be changed to different rooms. We were advised they would have to check with management. It was at that time; we realized the hotel does not provide free daily shuttle service to downtown Savannah as advertised on the Agoda website. After a day of traveling, we were hungry and decided to utilize the shuttle so we could eat. When we did not hear back from the hotel, we called back after dinner, we were advised it was too late to change rooms. At that point, we knew we could not stay in those rooms and inquired about cancelling the remainder of our stay and seeking accommodations elsewhere and receiving a full refund. We were advised it was too late for a refund for that night but management would be consulted about issuing a credit through the 3rd party Agoda for the remainder of our trip. The next morning, we again went to the Front Desk. The person was very nice and professional but she had no idea what we were talking about. We had to start over explaining all the issues that we had. We spoke with a Manager, who advised us we were placed in dog friendly rooms and she was surprised we were placed there since we did not have animals with us, She then said she would speak with the General Manager to see what could be done. At this point, we were so disappointed in not only our rooms but also in how the situation was handled, we decided to book, through Agoda, another property, Mrs. Savage returned to the Front Desk and was advised since we had booked through a 3rd Party, (Agoda) a refund could not be issued. At that time, we requested to speak with the General Manager directly. A short time later, she came over from the other property. When we spoke with her, she was puzzled why the Front Desk did not advise us she had authorized the changing of the rooms. She offered to move our rooms for the remainder of the stay. At that point, we were so upset and that still did not address the lack of free shuttle service to downtown Savannah, we had decided to make other arrangements, The General Manager advised us she would consult with the owner, to see how this could be resolved, A short time later, I received a call from the General Manager, that she had made an "executive decision" and made an exception to their policy to refund the remainder of our trip. We were very appreciative. We were advised to contact Agoda for this refund and the hotel would approve it. Mrs. Savage contacted Agoda and received her credit of $267.64. However, when I contacted Agoda, they were advised the refund had only been issued to Mrs. Savage for her room and not my room, I reached out both via email and through phone calls, to get this corrected. On the 31st of May, I received a call from the General Manager, that she claimed she was unaware that we were actually staying in two separate rooms?? I was advised at that time, she would consult with the owner to get this resolved and I would hear back from her by Friday, June 3rd. Months have passed. I have called numerous times and sent numerous emails. I even sent a certified letter to the Owner. To this day, I have not received an acknowledgement nor a refund.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in my life what a s*** hole cockroaches spiders sheets that have been on the bed for like 2 weeks without being changed the pillows with nasty I was in there for 5 minutes I walked out canceled my my room got another room they walked us into room and mildew the window sills are full of dirt nasty do not recommend unless you're a bum and homeless

I read all the reviews and choose to stay at the Iris Garden Inn due to them. I knew it was not close to the action but didn't mind because it had good reviews. This hotel had a nice staff and the lobby was updated. That is where the positives end. The hotel is very dated and dirty. Carpet is filthy, walls are dirty and no one ever cleaned our room.

My best friend and I recently were in Savannah for a girls trip. She paid extra to "check in early" since we arrived earlier than expected and had a concert to attend the evening upon arrival. We walked into the lobby and had to find someone since no one was at the front counter. Once we found someone, she bluntly told us we couldn't check in until 1:00. When my friend asked about having a seat and waiting in the "restaurant" part of the hotel, the woman said no because the chairs were already up and pointed to a sorry looking chair/loveseat we could sit on to wait. Everything about this hotel was disgusting. My best friend's daughter saw a dead cockroach in the lobby, the hallways and our room smelled. It was dark and dingy and just filthy. The staff were un accommodating and not friendly. We left and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express which was lovely! Save yourself the time, and money (because my friend didn't get a refund) and book at the Holiday Inn Express before coming anywhere near this place!

The hotel appeared to be a very charming location and upgrade from a Days Inn or Best Western. Understatement :( Upon entry to the lobby it was in need of major paint touch up on the walls along with 1 large faux leather sofa in very shoddy condition. Upon check into our 2 queen room the refrigerator and microwave were non-working. I asked for a room switch which was accommodated. The breakfast was nothing more than fruit cups, yogurt, dry cereal and packaged muffins. No milk was available during early morning breakfast as they had run out. Things happen to say the least but from mere observation the hotel lacks attention to detail and attentive management. It was a waste of money.

This was a nice hotel for a budget. I stayed here with my 3 young cousins for a weekend trip to Savannah. I enjoyed the complementary breakfast and free shuttle to and from downtown Savannah. That was really helpful! The hotel was nice and clean. The towels were not the softest or big so that was my only true complaint. The staff was super nice and helpful!

Front desk substandard. We waited 10 minutes while she was on the phone allegedly with the police dept. At check-in, we were informed that there was an extra $15 charge for our prepaid room! We asked about the free shuttle and were told that it only runs on Friday and Saturday! One of the reasons we chose this property was because of the shuttle. The property is advertised as a “luxury” hotel. It is closer to a Motel 6. Our room is small and cramped. The comforter is ragged and torn in several places! The walls are scarred. The bathroom is small and the tub is dirty. The freezer needs defrosting. On the positive side, the AC system works well.
