We stayed here overnight on our way back home. The hotel is nice and clean. My only complaint was the lady who checked us in. She was rude and dismissive. As a Hilton Honor member and owner, you’d think she would provide us with the waters that are complimentary but she never mentioned it and when we asked she said “they’re just water”. I requested them and she made us wait for her to check in another family. On the other hand, the breakfast was outstanding and I can’t say enough about Blue! What a nice man, available to help us in any way. All their employees should be like Blue!
This Embassy Suites is located about a half mile from downtown on Oglethorpe Avenue. It is just west of a Hampton Inn that shares the same garage. Self-parking is $28 a day which is actually cheaper than the other hotels near the center. The walk into the central historic district is doable. This Embassy is extremely inviting to walk into. A large foyer greets you with friendly staff. If you are an Hilton Honors member, free bottles of water are given to you. We had a room on the second level. There are three elevators to choose from. Maybe not the quickest elevators, but it did get you where you wanted to go. Our room was a typical Embassy room with a large sitting area with a couch, a very large bathroom and a comfortable bed. There is also a microwave and a small convenient refrigerator. There were also two TVs in both rooms. Although, the controls were not the best to navigate. We can’t say there are any “best” views from this hotel. Our view was of a roof. There is a pool on premise and a fitness facility. We did not use either. One of the big advantages of staying at the Embassy Suites is the cooked eggs to order. The chef did a good job in making my eggs perfect, sunny-side-up. The only complaint is the selection of breads. The bagels are your typical Costco type. On our first day, the main toaster was broken. A small toaster was available with only two slots. The second breakfast the main toaster was back in operation. Unlike other Embassy Suites we visited on this trip, one selected a “number” for the table. A paper was filled out with your number on top. Your eggs were brought to you. We thought this was a great idea. We always enjoyed the free drinks given out for two hours near dinner. Although, we did find out that Tito’s was an extra $4 dollars. We later purchased our own Tito’s bottle and circumvented from going to their free drink promotion. During regular business hours there is a dedicated concierge. She was able to give us some good advice about the river boat. Being a Hilton, they do have discounted prices for most of the attractions. This is the person to see. Even with the walk, we enjoyed our stay at this Embassy Suites. In the summer, there is no walking in Savannah without sweating and being a bit hot and feeling the humidity. Nevertheless, Savannah is one of our favorite cities to visit and we appreciate this Embassy Suites.…
The Omelets and pancakes were delicious by Neko he was an excellent chef very polite and friendly. There was an automatic machine to order Omelets and pancakes buy he made sure that he assisted those in the process while cooking. Also Nigeria was the server that brought out the omlettes and pancakes she was very nice and friendly she askes if there was anything else she can get for us. This was GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE all the way around.
We had a wonderful time at Embassy Suites. The location was perfect to the museums, shops and restaurants. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and staff was friendly. Mr. Blue, the Dining Hall Manager was personable and helpful. The breakfast was delicious especially the ready -to -order pancakes and omelette. Chef Shay and the other chef were amazing. My hubby and I had a fun time and felt refreshed.
Girls trip for myself, mother and sister in law. We had a wonderful trip! We enjoyed the daily breakfast with great food and service from Blue. He was so nice and helpful. The evening happy hour was fun too! We enjoyed great drinks and service from Jodeci. The bathroom was large and the bed was comfortable. Overall, great accommodations!
Wonderful breakfast. Delicious food. The breakfast staff was excellent. You could tell they were very short staffed but were working so hard to keep up. Blue was very friendly. James was a great cook. The other staff members were friendly and hard working too.
Marq at the front desk was great! The location was ideal for going to the St. Patty’s day celebrations! Breakfast in the morning was great as well as the happy hour! Fully enjoyed our stay! We will be back!
It’s an older property but a great Location to everything in Savannah. Within walking distance and seemed to be a safe walk. The happy hour and breakfast are what draws me to the ES properties. This one wasn’t the best for either but was still good. Nigeria and James Blue were a pleasure at breakfast. They work hard!
Great location is in walking distance to where you want to be while away from the street noise on holiday weekends. Comfortable rooms have good space for spreading out. Friendly staff like James, Blue, Tika, Mischell, Nigeria and Carol made us feel welcome.
Great location; easy to walk to River Street & the downtown area. Blue was very helpful… he gave us great recommendations of how to spend our day in Savannah. We stayed for St. Patrick’s Day weekend… as a busy as the city was, the hotel never seemed too crowded.
