Nestled in the heart of the historic district, Hilton Garden Inn Savannah receives recognition for its array of amenities, including a fitness center and pool, but some guests miss having a concierge on weekdays. While its central location garners appreciation for proximity to local attractions, concerns are raised over parking fees and ambient noise.
The atmosphere is generally commended for comfort and cleanliness, though occasional noise and maintenance issues are cited. Despite the competitive rates, some travelers feel that additional costs for parking and breakfast lessen the hotel's overall value.

Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and it’s a good location if you primarily intend to spend your time in the Historic District. It’s generally convenient to walk everywhere. Parking is a nightmare in general in this area, but the Hilton Garden Inn made it easy (although expensive) with valet service. The front desk staff was excellent — every interaction we had was friendly and helpful! We did not eat in the hotel given there are so many great choices in the Historic DIstrict.
Two notes:
1) I While the rooms are nicely appointed, the bathrooms make little to no provision for hanging wet items. Notes to hotel: Please at least install one additional full size towel bar if not two. Our bathroom offered a single towel hook and one bar on the shower door, which is insufficient to hang two wet bath towels plus two wet wash cloths, much less three. (Note there is no hook on the bathroom door as it is a sliding door)
2) We were there 3-5 days after the January snow hit, and I was shocked to find that the hotel had not shoveled the snow & ice from the sidewalks around their business. IMHO this demonstrates an absolute lack of concern for the safety of their guests. (BTW this hotel was unfortunately not unusual in the regard — this was true for many restaurants and businesses in the area — we simply did not go into any establishment where the snow and ice was not cleared from the front of the business). Neither were any of the sidewalks treated with sand or ice melt that we could see. (FWIW while we understand snow is rare in Savannah, this is not an acceptable excuse for not being conscious about the safety of your guests. And the best time to shovel after a snow is immediately after the snow, before it melts & re-freezes into ice — not several days later)

Dear RRphotos, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We’re glad you enjoyed your visit and found the location convenient for exploring the Historic District. It’s great to hear that our valet service made parking less stressful. We’re also thrilled that our front desk team provided excellent and friendly service throughout your stay. We appreciate your constructive notes about the bathroom design, and we’ll certainly share your suggestion about adding more towel bars with our team. Your concerns about the sidewalks after the snowstorm are also noted. The safety of our guests is a top priority, and we deeply regret that this was not adequately addressed. We’ll use this feedback to better prepare for any similar situations. We loved having you as our guest, and we hope to see you in the near future. Scott Hester General Manager

Love Love Love this place well I am huge fan of hilton all together. This hotel was everything we needed it was in the center of everything food drinks activies everything was in walking distance. The room was super clean nice size for a couple, and a balcony facing the street and river. The price was amazing especially with the locatin and compared to actual river walk hotels that was double in price. The area did not sleep to about 3am so if you dont like music people walking having fun etc this is not for you especially on the weekend. Everyone was walking you could hear everything which did not bother us we was up and about all night. The hotel look just like the pictures. However because of the location you do have to pay for parking which is $25 a day. Breakfast is not included you have to pay for that as well which is est $15 a person buffet style. I would def stay at this hotel again especially if I could catch a great prize

Mr Blue was an amazing breakfast host. He has the best customer serve personality that I have seen/experienced in years. He greeted us daily with warm greetings and attended to our every needs. He made sure that our table was cleared as soon as we were finished with our breakfast and assisted us with by giving us input on local attractions. If you ever visit this hotel look/ask for Mr. Blue

It is an overpriced hotel, and we had a dreadfully disappointing room. We booked a suite, which had two rooms. The bed was next to a big window and a balcony…excellent. The sitting area was by the door as you came in, and any light from the window was blocked by the bathroom area. It was very, very dark, and unusable even in the brightest afternoon. Whichever genius at Hilton decided to put the sitting area in the dark during the day, rather than the bedroom should be fired. Appalling and a rip,off tbh.
Check in was without charm or warmth. We arrived at 2pm and was told to come back at 4pm.
Two sides of the hotel face very busy, noisy roads, so be careful with your choice. Facing away from the river will be quieter.
Breakfast is extra, and, as is becoming the norm with Hilton, valet parking is pretty obligatory and always a rip off. This Hilton joins the sad list.

I was here 2 weeks for business. My room went 5 days without being cleaned. I would not recommend this hotel for extended stays. The lobby sells laundry detergent, and they provide washer and dryers on each floor. However, the machines take $3 for one load and only accept quarters. However the lobby does not carry quarters or change.

Stayed 3 days at this hotel and the stay was amazing. Before I checked in, I received a text from the hotel welcoming me and giving me all the details (parking fee, housekeeping schedule, etc) of the hotel. Once I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and once I got to my room, received another text message to make sure everything was good with my room. The rooms are immaculate! This hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants which is a big perk when traveling for business. Special shout out to Tim and Amanda on providing SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and making my stay here in Savannah Great!

The hotel was in the perfect location, close to the Riverwalk. While parking is $45 daily you can come and go anytime at no extra charge. Check in online or at the desk. Our room was very clean and had a great view of the river. The black out blinds stopped light from getting in but not noise. Luckily the hotel had a white noise machine in the room! The step in shower was great as well as the shower head, with ample hot water and pressure. And of course the warm cookies from the front desk. Great place!

We spent two nights at this property. This is by far, our favorite hotel we have stayed at in Savannah! The front desk staff were great! Our room was spotless, the bed was so comfortable, breakfast was good, I loved the shower (nice and hot and good pressure with great toiletry items inside the shower). I had read, prior to coming to the hotel, complaints about noise outside because of the location. Well….I wasn’t willing too sacrifice location for a completely quiet hotel that was a distance from the historic district. Besides, I couldn’t hear anything once I turned on the white noise machine. I thought the fee for parking was a bit high but I was happy our car was in a secure location and I knew the rate before we arrived so I wasn’t surprised. The hotel was being power washed while we were there so the pool was closed on our second day but we could have used the pool at the Doubletree next door. Very pleased with our stay and we will definitely be back again!

The proximity to the waterfront, shops and restaurants of Hilton Garden Inn in Savannah's historic district is possibly its best advantage but the location is not without drawbacks. This is an otherwise good hotel let down by the idea of a Valet parking service that simply does not work.
Guests arriving by car must stop at the valet station to unload before proceeding, but the physical layout is such that in doing so, a backup is created that extends to the outside street and beyond. Already a tight turn for larger vehicles, this placement of the valet desk is perhaps the worst feature of the hotel - and sadly, the most memorable.
If the hotel management insists on the need for the additional $45 per day valet parking charge, then move the valet stand to the top floor, near the elevator, and allow guests to unload there and proceed downstairs to the front desk. This will ensure smooth movement from the street.
Otherwise, the hotel is in an attractive older building that is right in the middle of the historic centre, just where you want to be. The room was fine, and the restaurant downstairs serves breakfast with a reasonable selection, in line with other Hilton Garden Inns in the chain.

I don't think so. The balcony is extremely small so we didn't even go out on it. I don't think a King would make much difference in the room.
