Nestled in a prime spot, Hyatt Regency Savannah garners praise for its accessibility to riverfront delights and stunning views, though guests have called out the steep parking and resort fees. The service is generally noted to be warm and responsive, albeit with occasional lapses, particularly regarding valet parking. While the lively ambience and cozy lobby are highlights, some visitors feel the rooms could benefit from a refresh.
The cleanliness meets expectations for many, yet some suggest a need for finer attention. Concerns regarding value surface, especially related to the additional fees.

Detailed Reviews
The Hyatt Regency Savannah was the conference hotel for a conference I was attending. Conference rooms, coffee and continental breakfast were fine.
I arrived before check-in and was offered an upgrade to City View for $10/night, which I took as I was exhausted after a 20 hour journey from Hawaii. The room was nice and well appointed: 2 double beds, desk and 2 chairs, room safe, fridge with 2 bottle of water and Keurig coffee maker & coffee. The bathroom was clean with ample towels, large size bath products in shower, but only small lotion and hand soap by the sink. Counter was large. Room also included blow dryer, iron and ironing board.
The beds were very comfortable and I slept well despite some street noise that could be heard from the 6th floor.
The problem was lighting. This was a business trip and I needed to work, so I needed a functional desk with an electrical outlet for my computer. The small lamp was too dim, and a floor lamp next to the desk was not plugged in. (Turned out it was also broken.) There were no available wall outlets. The sitting chairs were not comfortable for desk work.
I twice told the same gentleman at the front desk about the lamp problem, but nothing was done. My third request was to a young lady at the front desk, who called engineering. The young man from engineering was top notch, working diligently and professionally to turn the desk around (the desk had an outlet built in but it was facing the wall), swap the desk lamp with the bedside lamp for better light at the desk, and move and repair the floor lamp. While I was very happy with the result, it should not have taken that much work. The room was not set up properly, the floor lamp was broken and not plugged in, and it turned out the lamp by the bed had 2 electrical outlets, but neither of them worked.
The restaurant downstairs was okay. I prefer lighter fare, and the yogurt and granola bowl was too big and too sweet. I didn't get breakfast there after the first day and just opted for the continental breakfast before my conference, which included whole fruits in addition to the pastries. Easy to peel bananas ran out quickly before the apples and oranges.

Dear leeannb645, Thank you for being our guest and for the feedback. We are glad to read you liked your clean accommodations and that you had an overall pleasant visit. However, we sincerely apologize for disappointing you with the maintenance issues to your room and the inconvenience this caused you. We will share your comments with the appropriate teams to ensure corrective measures are taken. We are also sorry for the unpleasant interaction you had with some of our front desk associates and for the service shortfalls you experienced while here. We needed to just getaway for a few days. We selected Hyatt. The lobby was open and large with several different seating areas and several tvs. It is like a large cozy family room. Many outlets to plug your phones or devices. The lobby offered complimentary water and freshly brewed complimentary coffee in the mornings. There was also coffee and a fridge in our room. There is a microwave on each hallway near vending areas. This hotel is right by the river. A lot of stores and restaurants. We walked everywhere! The only time we used our vehicle was when we went home. We parked in a parking garage across the street from the hotel… saved about $50 bucks by doing so. The room bathroom was small but it was fine. Our room was clean but I do not care for carpet in bedrooms. Our room had large windows where we could look at the boats, river and other happenings on river street. Staff was courteous and visitors were friendly.

We had a great stay at the Hyatt Regency Savannah. The days prior to our arrival I received two separate welcome emails with offers to assist. It was a nice touch.
Upon arrival there was a welcome note in a small frame reminding us of the availability of various amenities. This is standard, of course, but this time it was personalized with my name.
Another nice touch.
The room and the property were very typical for Hyatt Regency, a business class hotel.
In room k-cup coffee maker and refrigerator with bottled water already in it (third nice touch) were enjoyed. As an aside, and not reflective of this hotel in particular, when are the coffee condiment packets going to evolve to no longer have the pink artificial sweetener. No one uses that one any more! (Or next to no one.). Still, it is quite rare to find a place that doesn’t have those packets.
The room was clean and well appointed. On the next renovation I might suggest the carpets be replaced with laminate. It’s really hard to keep carpet fresh near bodies of water.
We had a river view and this was perhaps the best part of our stay - we loved watching the ships go by!
The shower had great pressure and temperature and plentiful amenities.
The bed was comfortable albeit on the firm side. Linens and pillows were great.
All staff that we dealt with were friendly and helpful.
I found the resort fee to be very prominently disclosed so it didn’t surprise me. City garages (mentioned in the transportation section of the website or app) were very close by and cheaper than. Slept.
Valet is presently $48/night which is about par for an area like this.
We really enjoyed our stay and Savannah in general and look forward to returning.

The Hyatt Regency Savannah staff were extremely friendly and helpful. getting around the hotel is a breeze and they lobby sundries store is well stocked and actually reasonably priced.
Pros:
Clean, spacious rooms rooms
Nice sitting areas (either outdoors or indoors) just to sit and read a book or chill
Friendly, helpful staff
Easy access to Bay Street and River Street

Nice indoor pool
Cons:
Breakfast and parking are a bit pricey (if you're willing to walk a little you can always find street parking)
Wish the pool was outdoors

I have stayed at a Hyatt Regency a couple of times in Boston, etc. and expected this to be much of the same and this was not what I had expected. Over New Years and understanding that this is a busy and popular time of year to travel, I still expected more or my money and for the price. I booked through a 3rd party site and when I arrived I ended up having to pay a $25.00 destination fee that was not paid for up front when booked raising my bill almost $200 dollars. I was told at check-in that is had been paid, but when we went to get some of the complimentary services associated with our room, we were told that we did not have the charge and had to pay as it was mandatory, to be charged. My fiance and I got 2 muffins and 2 cups of coffee from the cafe and it took us over 35 minutes to simply pay for what we wanted. Service was very slow in that area. The rooms were clean but could use a little updating as there were some stains in the corner of the bathroom and some friends that also went on the trip with us noted stains on ceiling and some peeling on the ceiling. Convenient location but having been to Savannah a few times now, I would have expected more.

The Hyatt Regency Savannah is in a great location. We had a room (three nights, mid-week) overlooking the river and watched the boats sail by every day. What we greatly appreciated was its location on the river and proximity to shops and restaurants.
However, the bathrooms need attention. Specifically, the calking around the shower and the walls of the bathroom need to be replaced. Also, if you want your room to be cleaned daily, you must request it; it is not automatic.
Finally, something (perhaps) totally out of the hotel's control: the noise of room doors slamming closed at all hours of the day and night did not result in continuous sleep. In terms of loudness, it was the worst I have ever experienced.

Nothing really fancy about this hotel. The location was ideal but public parking was minimal near hotel and valet was pricey. The rooms were roomy but they smelled damped and humid. The carpet needed deep cleaning. Balcony rooms are not worth it. You couldn’t even sit outside and enjoy the breeze or view. The breakfast buffet was the best part of my stay.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and while the hotel appeared impressive in photos, my experience was far from satisfactory.
As a guest with allergy concerns, I specifically booked one of your Wellness Rooms, expecting a space that would accommodate our needs. Unfortunately, I was disheartened to find that despite the room being advertised as allergy-friendly, it still contained carpet flooring, which is contrary to what was depicted in your images. I had understood the floors to be tile or laminate, which would have been more suitable for those with allergies.
Additionally, the air purifier provided in the room did little to mitigate the noticeable amount of dust present on fixtures, which was not only unpleasant but concerning for someone with respiratory issues.
The state of the bathroom was especially troubling. I was forced to use a tissue to touch the door handle and light switch, as the cleanliness was absolutely subpar. No guest should have to worry about touching unsanitary surfaces in a hotel room, especially in the bathroom. Moreover, the floor was so filthy that I would not dare let my bare feet come in contact with it. I do have photographic evidence of the conditions and would be happy to provide them upon request.
I wanted to bring these concerns to your attention in the hope that future guests do not face the same issues. I trust that your team will take the necessary steps to improve the quality and cleanliness of your Wellness Rooms.
I look forward to your response and hope to see some improvements made

Prime location.
We reserved a river view room. That was the best choice we could have made, amazing view, worth the extra money.
We slept well, very quiet, we were on the fifth floor. Bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping service was provided.
No extra toiletries like lotion,
was given, just soap and shampoo. Pricey for not having these available for a guest. 😉
Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The concierge « Phil » was exceptional.
We paid $48 for parking per day which was worth it. We only stayed for 2 nights and it was the busy Memorial Day weekend. We knew beforehand what to expect.
There was no surprises in our bill. I made the reservation on the Hyatt website. All extra fees were calculated, so you knew exactly what to expect. The parking fees were deducted from a retainer fee that they charge at checking just in case you use something extra. If you don’t use anything, this is taken off your bill at checkout.
We did not eat there, so I can not comment on the food or dining experience.
We went to a local restaurant called Dottie’s, the food and service was exceptional.
We had a great stay in Savannah!!!!

Upon arrival of our drive from Florida we were greeted to a lovely hotel lobby. Check in was good. Once we entered our room, that’s when things went south.
I always wipe down the surfaces I know my kids are going to touch in any hotel. As I was wiping down surfaces I noticed a layer of dust on most of the surfaces. They sent someone up to dust the vents?? I’m not sure what that would have done being that I had already wiped down the surfaces. The border of the room had a white film of dust all around where the vacuum I guess doesn’t reach. This room either had t been occupied in a while, or just isn’t being maintained properly. Next, the bathroom was not up to par. The shelf underneath the sink had water stains with dust on them. On that same shelf were the towels—right next to the toilet! Mind you, this bathroom is TINY! I requested new towels immediately and every day after that. The walls next to the shower had stains on them. It was gross! Then the tv was not working, they sent someone up as well and that got fixed. The icing on the cake was that the fridge was not cooling. We really should’ve just left at that point and checked with into the Andaz or Thompson but we have three kids and had just driven from Florida. We were tired. On top of that, it was the day before Thanksgiving and we just wanted to settle down somewhere. We booked a four night stay, HEAVILY considered leaving the day after Thanksgiving or moving to another hotel. But instead we decided to at least visit the Market the next day since we had already made the trip and just made it a 3 night stay since we didn’t do much on Thanksgiving day. I’m sad we had to cut out vacation short because we did not feel comfortable in our hotel room. These rooms need major TLC and updating and maintenance. Honestly felt like I was staying at a motel.

I am not aware of any shuttle service from the Hyatt however I did not research that service.
I was too upset over the $32 daily parking fee to worry about the pool.
Not that I am aware of. We did not require it, but I'm sure you could simply give them a call to check.
There are several areas you can view the outside river with furniture to sit.
If your checked in with a room number then it works but if you have a future date stay and you would like to ship things in advance, you would have to speak to a manager. I believe it would just be the logistics of making sure they can store the item.
