Had a great time in Savannah and at the Planters Inn. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the city. We liked that it was not a chain so much, and that it had character. The breakfast and wine and cheese were both nice touches and the staff was very friendly. We would return.

Very central hotel.....one of the best locations in the city for exploring Savannah and Reynolds Square is beautiful. We had rooms 201 and 202 which benefit from the beautiful shared terrace overlooking the square....perfect for a family or two couples travelling. The hotel is in good condition and whilst not deluxe, a good value for Savannah.

We visited Savannah for 2 nights in May 2017. As soon as we arrived to the Planters Inn after our two hour drive we found our rooms were ready!! Yay!! We unpacked and then asked for a recommendation for a light lunch. We were steered to Kayak's which was a few blocks away. We had a delicious curried chicken salad....

Great location for seeing Savannah. Within minutes walking we were able to get to Leopolds, SCAD, Forsyth Park, and more. Room was comfortably big, well lit, quiet, nicely cooled. Helpful concierge. Only drawback: breakfast offerings--canteloupe and pineapple slices with rinds, mostly white flour, packaged baked goods, weak coffee.

From the location, to the atmosphere, to the staff, to the value, this is where I would always stay in Savannah. The evening wine and cheese reception in the lobby was delightful. I loved everything about this hotel.

Very nice, clean room, helpful staff, great location! Only downfall is that the side of the Inn faces a parking garage that is super noisy with engines revving until the wee hours of the morning. Could not get a good nights sleep. For that reason alone would not return or recommend. Such a shame because no other complaints about this...

Savannah is a great city and quite different from what I expected. It's on a very large river with a major port at one end. However the main part is a beautiful historic area laid out in a series of squares with inner parks. The planters hotel is on one of these squares 5 mins from the river and many...

This hotel is in a great location. We found it to be very quiet at night as it is not on a main road, but is within walking distance of anything in the historic district. A buffet breakfast is included, as is wine and cheese in the afternoon. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and friendly and could not do enough for us Lovely touches such as fruit-flavoured cold water available on our return each day Complimentary wine and cheese in the early evening

We stayed here for two long nights and while the staff was pleasant and helpful it did not make up for the two sleepless nights we had. The hooting and hollering and engine reving in the street did not let up till 4am both nights. Not what I look for in a hotel. However, if you don't mind the noise...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
To sleep in the epicenter of the city's beautiful historic district, book some time here, on Reynolds Square. The Planters Inn offers elegant rooms, great service, and a jovial wine and cheese reception where people linger each afternoon. For a view, ask about one of the rooms overlooking Reynolds Square Park. Better yet, step outside the inn and get lost among the azaleas and architecture. Just make it back for your dose of wine and cheese. ... more   less
