Excellent weekend stay during St. Patty’s Day. We interacted with a couple of the staff that went above and beyond our expectations. David in maintenance and Larry a valet. Servers in the bar we’re friendly and accommodating. Noice in the hallway was addressed by security in a timely manner.
We loved our stay at the DeSoto! Lovely hotel, friendly staff, beautiful balcony views, and perfect location. We were able to easily walk throughout Savannah from here and had the best trip. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!
We recently stayed at The Desoto for St. Patrick's Day in Savannah! The hotel staff was incredible, super friendly, and everything was very well organized. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and the food and service there was also fantastic. The bar had a great atmosphere and our server Cameron was top-notch!
Why a low rating you ask? Well the public areas and service rate a 4.5 out of 5. The concierge was incredibly helpful and her recommendations were very good. The valet and front door staff were incredible. However the room gets a 1 out of 5. And only a 1 because the bed was comfortable. Take a look at the pictures - a vent hanging over the toilet by 2 screws and a coat of paint. Another hanging vent and bad fitting panel in the shower ceiling. Our safe never worked - although it was reprogrammed. Our TV didn't work when we arrived and had white dots and streaks throughout our stay. The two engineers who came to fix it were very apologetic. Apparently new TVs have been on order for quite some time and have never been received. Our complaints were acknowledged and we were finally told we were in an old room that is scheduled for renovation. Why in the name of God would you not repair hanging vents and holes in the ceiling? Why would you not tell us that were in in an unrenovated room on check in. Why would you dump us in a poorly maintained room in the first place? BE FOREWARNED - I'M NOT SURE HOW MANY ROOMS, IF ANY, HAVE BEEN RENOVATED BUT DON'T SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A 3RD CLASS ROOM. Savannah has better places with quality rooms housekeeping that's not, ONLY ON DEMAND. …
Luxurious hotel with great amenities and employees. Perfect view. Comfy bed. Larry the valet is the G.O.A.T, friendliest, most respectful guy you’ll ever meet. The bar was very nice and the drinks were on point.
Great location. Great for parking the car and being able to walk anywhere. Wish the beds were bigger than just doubles but they we’re comfortable. Had breakfast in the dining room which was nice. Valets we’re good
If you are coming to Savannah, you cannot go wrong at this hotel. Nestled right in the heart of the historic district, you are in easy walking distance of the best Savannah has to offer. The staff were so nice, and when I asked where I could get the pillows from my room, they printed off the name of the make and supplier for me! Best sleep I ever had in a hotel!
The DeSoto hotel was a beautifully appointed hotel, perfectly located in the historic district. The hotel staff are pleasant and efficient. Shout out to Jeremiah the valet! The standard king room was spacious & immaculate with hardwood-like floor & small carpet around the bed. It would’ve been nice if instead of an ice bucket in the bureau, there had been a mini fridge instead. The cafe in the lobby has wonderful pastries, flavored coffees and breakfast sandwiches. The Madison sandwich on a large, flaky croissant is delicious & comes with breakfast potatoes. We can’t wait to return to beautiful Savannah & the DeSoto.
This hotel delivered everything that it promised. Lovely room and bathroom. Our room was overlooking Liberty Street so we did get some traffic noise in the night. The roof top (but not at the very top of the building - on the 2nd Floor) pool area is a great facility. Breakfast is an extra charge and is a la carte but was excellent quality and fair prices. Great location for walking to sights and restaurants. The hotel charges $40 per day for valet car parking but a 10-minute walk away near Forsyth Park you can find 24-7 street parking free of charge. We'd love to stay again at the De Soto.
Nice Southern Hotel with southern hospitality staff. Great bar with outdoor porch area. Good hotel food. Restaurant on premises but also a small take out area for breakfast sandwiches etc. good location by many shops and restaurants. At least a half mile walk to the waterfront. Housekeeping had to be requested but the request was always happily fulfilled.
