If you're looking for something a little different, not pricey, very clean with excellent service, then this is the place. We stayed here for a short getaway hoping to visit some of the historic sites nearby. It was so cold we spent most of the time relaxing in this very cozy place. The innkeeper treated us like family. I regret...

IS -- nostalgic to a foregone era; friendly helpful owners; creaky old wooden stairs, chairs and hallway; comfortable beds; good internet connection; lovely decorations; good organic continental breakfast with several choices... ISN'T -- upstairs not wheelchair or handicapped accessible; able to adjust temperature in each room; very dry air in winter time; very quiet -- that's the way buildings were...

We stopped here one night on our way east, and wished we had spent more time. It is an old style hotel with large rooms and great quaint charm. Our hosts were great. The only thing holding back our rating was a mediocre breakfast. The town as a lot of history and it would have been nice to have had...

I stayed in a small room which was fine with me. It was very clean. The sink is outside of the bathroom which I liked as I could get a drink of water in the night easily. Towels were very soft and nice. Toilet paper was the good stuff. The AC was perfect. I slept really good there. Beds were...

Spent the night here after long day on motorcycle. This place is wonderful!! We were greeted by Frank and immediately checked in to our rooms - where Frank had already turned on the a/c to make sure the room was comfortable. Location is great - not far from main highway in/out of town and within easy walking distance of historic...

Stayed in Room #5, which is perfect for one person. Will select a bigger room when spouse is along on short trip. Thought the hotel was charming and everything worked, which is always good. Comfortable stay overnight and the price is very reasonable. Has a Bed & Breakfast feel to the place.

To fully appreciate a historic hotel you must appreciate the meaning of historic. This hotel while over a century old, is very clean an accommodations are outstanding, right in the heart of the national historic site of Ft. Scott Kansas. Rooms are somewhat smaller than modern hotels, however, keep in mind this is a historic hotel over a century old......

Frank the owner was friendly and helpful. Location is close to everything historic Fort Scott. Even though it's an old hotel, the bathroom in each room were clean and modern. Air in each room. And beds are comfy. Sarah gave a great massage to my wife and I. Will stay here again.

We stayed in December 2014 actually. Our room ( I think it was #5 ) was too small for us, we had two kids, but the other rooms were taken. It was not too clean (old carpet, old sheets), and the extra mattress they provided us to throw on the floor should have been put in a dumpster. Its springs...

M I Thank You for the respectful review. I am so sorry that you were not able to get one of our rooms that would have accommodated your families needs. Room #5 is somewhat challenged for room space. But, it has been completely renovated since your stay a year and a half ago. New Towels, New linens New Carpet and...

Cozy room. Not part of a chain. Within walking distance of the Fort in historic Ft. Scott and the Saturday morning Farmers Market. Would be a great place to stay for a weekend getaway. Next time it's on our list to try the spa for a relaxing massage.
