We booked our trip as a business/pleasure trip with our 3 children (6,12,15) for 3 days during Spring Break. Upon checking in, the kids walked to the back room and found 2 bandaids on the bed and floor. We called the front desk and they sent 2 staff over to check our rooms. We were given a different room and found food trash under the beds and behind the nightstand. We settled in and found a decently stocked kitchen (can opener, hot pads, dishes, pots and pans, etc) it had a full sized fridge and oven and a small dining area. The pull out couch was unusable. The mattress is completely springs and dirty. One of our kids had to sleep on the couch without pulling it out. We settled down for the night and heard very loud running and it was shaking the entire building. It went on until after 11pm. We called the front desk and they sent someone out but couldn’t locate which room it was coming from. We were on the second floor (of 3 floors) and found out later, after speaking with our neighbors, that it came from the room under us. They heard it all the way to the third floor. Very poor insulation and you can hear everything. We left in the morning and when we returned, our key card was not working. I had to call the front desk and they told me they’d send someone to come help me. The person came but didn’t have replacement cards. We had to call back to get new cards. This happened the following day as well. Overall, the space worked size wise and was functional. The experience was very subpar and not accommodating for a family of 5. This hotel has great potential but needs updating and training for their staff.

Large rooms, comfortable beds and separate sink outside of the bathroom allow multiple family members to get ready at the same time. Clean property, friendly staff. On property restaurant and separate bar have a limited menu, no specific gluten free items and is a bit pricey. Food was good. Very few restaurants nearby, but Gerlado's Italian is a good choice only a 5 minute walk. The nearby Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum is a must!

The room was clean and comfortable, but most of the time there wasn’t anyone at the front desk. We got there at 11am and were told we couldn’t check in until 3 pm even though the hotel was empty. We were told they would call us when the room was ready and we waited but never received a call so after waiting at a restaurant for a few hours we headed back at 4 pm. The most disappointing part was that we asked for a Northern lights wake up call that we never received. The lights were out our second night which was our only chance to see them. Another guest happened to set up their camera and captured beautiful shots of the lights while we missed the opportunity, so don’t trust them to let you know. We stayed there because we were on a land tour through the cruise company before our cruise.

Misogynistic. My sister and I checked in and and were waiting for our room to be ready, the staff tells us they don’t have two full beds despite our booking months prior. They put us in an ADA compliant room with a full and a twin & room had not been updated for about 50 years. Then two men walk in without a reservation and they give them a room with two queens. The only reason we eventually got the room we booked (and not till second night) is bc Expedia intervened. Then, on the drive to the airport the driver “helpfully” explained what ice was. Restaurant is grossly overpriced, and location is meh.

Thank you, Sandra, there is a lot to unpack here, but we appreciate your review. In a hotel operation, there are many moving parts happening - especially with reservations and third-party reservations. We can review tapes to get more context and feedback from customers to help with training. Please feel free to email askus@fountainheadhotels.com to provide us with more information about your experience that may be helpful to us. Additionally, as Alaskans - especially from the Interior - we often explain wintery conditions, living here in the Arctic, and yes, sometimes about ice. We are proud of our knowledge and enjoy sharing. So with that, we hope you had a nice time in Fairbanks.

The resort staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! The food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the breakfast buffet. The room was spacious with everything we needed. Loved the grounds and enjoyed a walk through the nature preserve.

Very soft bed. First floor while convenient, lets people see into the room. (No sheers on the windows.) Expensive restaurant with no alacarte breakfast. Our waiter (student from Thailand) was fantastic. Other lodge staff variable ( one with a sour attitude at the check out desk). Close to Creamer's Field. All of Fairbanks seems to be within a short drive.

We kicked off a Norwegian Cruise Land portion here, This appears to be a popular cruise line stop for their land vacations. Our stay was very good, the room was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi is not great. Our Check-in and luggage handling was very smooth (but that might have been facilitated by Norwegian). If you are not a part of one of these cruise groups, you might get caught up in the shuffle of that.

Don't be fooled by the picture here! ALL of the rooms are queen bed only. This side of the resort is mainly used for people on cruise ship off-shore excursions in Fairbanks. The bed was a not only a trampoline, the mattress would not stay in place. There were no amenities, free breakfast, nothing. The only great thing about this place was the fabulous car museum, unlike any we have attended! We recommend the museum. Please, unless you are by yourself run!

Very nice hotel. A lot of WOW factor from the moment you walk through the door. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and a very comfy bed. It included wonderful in room amenities like coffee/coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and in room safe. Hotel is close to the artsy downtown Fairbanks area. Front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on site as well as self serve laundry facilities. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Subpar customer service, the entire hotel had a musty smell, the breakfast was overpriced, there is only one restaurant within walking distance, Ubers are costly to go anywhere, half of the staff doesn't speak English, rude staff members, they wouldn't allow us to sit in the bar to play boardgames, the curtains don't close all the way to block light during the summer months of full sun. We came here during the land portion tour after our cruise for two nights and were NOT impressed but the hotel and lack of food in and around the hotel. I walked over a mile each way to a grocery store. The hotel looked and smelled like it opened for business a week before we got there. Such a dingy, dusty, musty smell in the hallways and rooms. NCL needs to chose a different hotel. The hotel should come up with a price for customers to be able to use the hotel shuttle to get around. These tour groups are stuck here for two days with no way to get around or get food/alcohol.

Hi Annief959. We appreciate your review. We understand you are frustrated with our location after a cruise itinerary placing you in more "walkable" areas. Fairbanks isn't situated like that, which we know can be frustrating for weary travelers. Thank you for the feedback.
