What a find! This brownstone, within steps of a great subway stop, the Brooklyn Museum, the botanic garden, shops (wine, groceries, cheese) and restaurants, is operated by a family that lives on site. The two adult sons were very helpful, writing out directions for a museum in Manhattan, offering a personal cell number and encouraging us to call if we... More

I had a family wedding in Brooklyn, and wasn't excited about coming all the way from Hong Kong to stay in a chain hotel in a busy neighb with insufficient parking. Fortunately, my oldest brother and his wife had found Sterling B&B and had booked the Arches; the Cottage was still available! I was able to stay in the Cottage,... More

My father made a last minute trip to NYC and needed a place nearby our apt to stay. Sterling B&B really came through for us and exceeded all expectations. The inn itself is kept up extremely well with all of the amenities that one expects while still retaining the traditional brownstone charm. The staff/owners are extremely nice and welcoming. Overall... More

We stayed 2 quiet and restful nights in the garden room and very much enjoyed our time at Sterling B&B. Bathroom was a step across the hall but still felt very private. Breakfast was generous, with cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, and delicious pastries. Luxurious bed linens and towels, convenient location, and easy street parking. We will definitely return!

Sterling Bed & Breakfast is truly a gem in a lovely area of Brooklyn. I stayed in the guest cottage and was warmly welcomed, in spite of the fact that I had made a mistake with my reservation. The cottage is lovely, accommodations are very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. The B&B is located only minutes from the Botanic Garden,... More

I was in the Sterling for the second time and it felt like coming home. This is a really nice place to stay in New York and /or Brooklyn. It is near to the subway, which connects Brooklyn to Manhatten with two main lines. The house and each room are lovely! Each with a special atmosphere. It is great to... More

We had a wonderful time at Sterling B&B. Owners were very friendly, room was private and quiet ( we stayed in The Cottage) and the homemade crumbcake and fresh fruit for breakfast was delicious. Our traveling partner missed her flight and didn't stay the first night and they didn't charge her anything. First rate B&B. p.s. We learned at the... More

If you are looking for a place to stay in Crown Heights, this is it. A charming little hideaway with good service and character. My room upstairs was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Heat was not skimped on, felt cozy all night. Breakfast was ample, plenty of cereal, toast, fruit, juice and always a pastry. The owner David was quite helpful... More

We travelled for a long 15 hour flight from SA on a steep RAND budget. I must be honest at the price we paid, I did not expect much.... but we were genuinly, pleasantly surprised. Sterling is a peaceful, home away from home run by a really great family. Loved the fresh fruit and yoghurt every breakfast time, as well... More
