My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary in December, 2010. We didn't have a lot of money or time but we both knew we needed to get away together and for it to be memorable. Instead of renting a car and going up to the Catskills, we got on the A Train and went to BedStuy, Brooklyn (we...

Akwaaba Mansion is a wonderfully elegant Bed and Breakfast located in Brooklyn, NY. Very safe and convenient location to the subway with access to the A and C trains that take you directly into the heart of Manhattan in around 20 minutes. I found the subway to be the most reliable mode of transportation to this B&B and very easy...

We stayed at the Akwaaba Mansion as part of our fifth anniversary celebration, and it was wonderful. I chose to stay there because my wife loved the Akwaaba in Washington DC so much (we stayed there for our third anniversary). Before we could even travel to DC, a situation came up that caused me to need to change our travel...

I have just returned from a spectacular weekend stay at the Akwaaba Mansion in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood of Brooklyn. Monique and her staff were awesome, attentive, friendly and very gracious. They made the stay totally relaxing. The breakfasts were both excellent (Ryan's french toast one day, and Monique's fritata the next) and there was even a Saturday evening wine tasting...

My husband & I recently stayed in the Akwaaba Mansion in Brooklyn, NY. The stay was more than great. We were greeted by Ryan in the afternoon & he served us light refreshments. They were quite filling and very tasty! We then went up to our room which was “The Jumping Broom.” The room was very clean and tastefully decorated....

This was a family trip "girls week out in NYC". We had a wonderful time staying with the Akwaaba family. The owners and staff were the best. Erica, the manager took care of all our request without delay. Ryan took care of all our comfort needs. The French toast and roast pears he prepared for breakfast was just awesome, and...

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights in September 2010 and had such a nice experience. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful. We stayed in the Black Memorabilia Room but one a staff person showed us all the other rooms too and they were all beautiful. So next time I'll choose another one, just...

At long last I get to write a review of Akwaaba Mansion where my husband and I stayed for 6 nights from the end of October to the beginning of November 2009. We arrived at the gorgeous mansion on a sunny October day and were warmly welcomed in the afternoon by a member of staff. Shortly after our arriaval we...

The Akwaaba is a very charming B&B run by a very lovely staff. They make you feel welcomed from the get go. The beautiful mansion is located very close to the Metro and the surrounding neighborhood is filled with great brownstones. Besides your room, they provide guests with access to a TV room, library/internet room, and various lounging areas outdoors...
