We have stayed here several times. Once again, we can only praise it. We were a bit skeptical because this time we had a room on the second floor with a view of the street. But it was quiet here in the evenings too, and we slept well. The room was excellent overall: enough power outlets, coat hangers, good light, a top-notch shower (who needs those antiquated bathtubs anyway?) - and space! More than enough. Plus a safe and good quality beds. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual. The breakfast is particularly noteworthy, with the highlight being the fresh, varied fruit salad. There are good and reasonably priced restaurants in the area, and the Dekalb Food Market is just a five-minute walk away. There is also excellent subway access. Several lines are within walking distance.

Hotel's Favourite
Without a doubt the best hotel team I have come across. My trip to NYC was fraught with problems. late arrival, lost bag, you name it. When I checked in they got me a welcome bag of essentials to get me through the night and morning. It made the difference in my attitude when I gave a presentation in the same clothes I traveled in. This location is great and an easy walk to just about anything you want or need in Brooklyn. This was not the usual hotel we stay in when we meet in NYC, but it will be from now on! Oh, and the breakfast was awesome each morning!

Very convenient location and the front desk and breakfast staff really make a positive impression re friendliness and customer service. Overall great value for the $. My only significant caveats/critiques -- cleaning staff threw out my bag of snacks (gone from my room after 1st day of cleaning) and 3rd night I came back to my room late night to find my hotel room door was ajar! It seems after cleaning the door did not self lock/engage and staff did not notice (this is my assumption)? A bit alarming & thankfully my valuables were not accessible. I did notify front desk about this.

We stayed here this past weekend to visit our daughter in Brooklyn Heights.
Pros:
Fresh fruit in am (fresh cut fruit---not canned)--decent enough breakfast (I had oatmeal with almonds, fresh blueberries and banana)..There were egg options, sausage, yogurt, sugary cereals, bread products, waffle maker
Proximity to subway
Friendliness of staff
Felt safe to me....not sure about other reviews regarding 'long term' residents---I never noticed or felt like was an issue
Clean
Cons:
I never expect to get great sleep in a hotel. I would say the mattress was adequate. Could use upgraded beds.
Rooms are small but doesn't really matter as we were only there for sleep.
Not a whole lot of privacy with bathroom sliding door--no fan--ick
Overall a good stay and we will stay there again next time!

The hotel was fantastic . Staff were superb, location was great with a 10 minute walk to Brooklyn Bridge or the subway to head in to the city. Rooms were cleaned everyday and the breakfast was ideal to kick-start the day with a nice little variety . All the staff were friendly , Helpful and went out of there way to make sure you felt comfortable . This was my 3rd time in NY and 3rd different hotel but will be staying here again .

When we arrived to the hotel, we were greeted by Brian at the front desk. He was very friendly. We were unable to check in at that time, it was 10 am, however, he offered to store our bags in a locked room and we were able to go about the city and meet up with our son. While we were out I got a text that our room was ready. When we arrived back at the hotel Brian informed us that our bags were in our room. He had already checked us in and gave us our keys. The room was very clean, small, but had plenty of room/furniture to accommodate our clothes and bags. The bed and pillows, super comfortable! The lobby was small and quaint, clean and offered coffee, tea, hot water and the accompaniments 24 hours a day. The included breakfast was a welcoming start to our busy day as well as the ambiance of the dining area. There is a bar and restaurant which we did not get to experience on this stay as well as an outdoor patio which was closed during the time we were there (it was 30 degrees during our stay!) The location of this hotel is great, a short walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown in Manhattan (a walk across the bridge), restaurants and several train stations. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to NYC in the summer. As a side note, LaGuardia is much closer than JFK to this hotel, something to consider if you are taking an Uber or public transportation. Also the time of day and day of week traveling to and from the airport will impact the travel time as well as the cost. We flew into JFK at 9am on a Saturday, trip time by Uber was 30 minutes, cost was $51. We flew back home on a Monday, 6:30 pm flight. Our travel time to JFK was 1 hour 5 minutes, cost $98

Crystal and Kyla made sure that our rooms were always cleaned, that we had everything we needed, the little attentions at breakfast, the responsiveness when we needed extra duvets. A real pleasure to have such a dedicated and deeply kind staff. Recommend the hotel 100%

Great and friendly staff. It was pouring with rain on my first day and the staff at the counter were more than willing to provide me with a umbrella to borrow for the whole duration of the trip. Despite some technical issues regarding room payment, the team at Hampton Inn Brooklyn were quick and responsive to deal with all issues and assured me all would be fine. I was caught a little off guard by the hefty room deposit when checking in but I was luckily able to absorb the impact. Housekeeping were professional and fantastic, with fresh linnen and a made bed everyday. Front desk were always cheerful and friendly. I will likely be staying with them again on my future trips to New York.

Where do I begin! I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn. We chose this location because it was close to the Barclay's Center and our friends were staying there. We arrived early so we were able to place our bags in the storage room until we check in. Everyone, and I mean everyone, at the front desk were a pleasure to work with. From Jadii to Crystal to Ki. Every morning we laughed and joked, they gave us recommendations for food, and made sure we had everything we needed. In the evenings Johan, Luka, and Shyann were a blast. They gave us night life suggestions, partook in our basketball debates, and assisted with a room change. The security guard Ty, was even helpful when searching for food to eat at 3 a.m. The rooms were smaller than expected but we didn't spend much time in them because there was so much to do. The room was very clean, we received cleaning daily, and the wifi great speed. We will be returning to this hotel for pur next visit to Brooklyn.

Clean, comfy room with awesome complimentary breakfast (Eggs, Bacon, Waffles, cereal, fruit, juice, etc)! Central to Dtown and convenient pickup/dropoff for Uber and Lyft. Kind staff that was super accommodating, and there was access to Tea/Coffee in the lobby 24/7. Do put the bolt on the room door for safety precaution, a fellow guest thought my room was theres and almost opened my door - the front desk was quick to address the issue with the other guest having a misprogrammed key card. Check in/out was a breeze and they let me keep my stuff there before checkin at 3PM at the bell hop.
