I stayed here for 4 days in August and was glad I did. Not only is the place clean, well maintained and a pleasant change from the standard cookie cutter type hotels but it is on the quiet side of the road. The grounds are...More
The location is terrific and very close to the west park entrance. The staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. They gave us a lot of tips about the park and even loaned us bear spray to use. The restaurant was good and overall the rooms...More
We stayed at the Belton for a week and greatly enjoyed our visit. The rooms are clean and simple and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. After a long day of hiking, my husband and I decided to book 60 minute deep tissue massages...More

The Belton is a beautiful relic, and we were excited to visit again, and with our kids this time. We stayed in the Clark cottage, and it was perfect for our needs--3 bedrooms, bathroom, living area, and front porch. The view was beautiful, staff was...More

We used a shuttle company called Flathead/Glacier Transportation (406-892-3390) for travel to and from the airport to West Glacier or Whitefish. To West Glacier the cost is approximately $50.00 for a group of 1-4 people and $65.00 for a group of 5-8 people. To Whitefish the cost is approximately $30.00 for a group of 1-4 and $38.00 for 5-8.

The station is right across the street from the Belton in West Glacier. Next door to the station is a little ranger station with a very helpful ranger. He sold us a great trail map. Remember, getting to the park will cost you $5 on the shuttle which only goes once in the morning and once at night. Same for leaving the park to get back to the Belton. Next time we plan to either bring our bikes take the shuttle into the park when we arrive and stay inside the park where the shuttles are free. Four of our favorite hikes were Trail of cedars to Avalanche Lake. St. Mary Falls and Virginia Falls are amazing and both on the same trail and the views of the mountains are spectacular. Logan Pass visitor center has two good trails that start there. The trail to hidden lake usually affords views of wildlife and when we were there lots of snow. Highline trail is very popular, but only my husband did it as the steep and narrow path wasn't my cup of tea.
