We spent 10 days at The Great Bear Inn while visiting Montana. The Inn is just minutes away from Glacier National Park. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jackson and Emmitt two of the many dogs that patrol the property. They are there to protect the Inn and the guests from the bears. At first, we were a little intimidated...

My husband and I recently stayed for a week at the Great Bear Inn and loved the place! Our room (Grande) was huge and so comfortable, with a great view. But what really made it special was the atmosphere and staff...so friendly and attentive. We had only signed up for 3 of the 6 nights for dinner when we made...

My husband and I vacation in the West Glacier area every September and we love staying at the Great Bear Inn! This year our stay was shorter than normal but we were still able to enjoy the unique ambiance and personal attention from the owners and staff of this beautiful mountain lodge. We actually stayed in two different room types...

My husband and I recently spent 10 days at this inn. We had rain, snow, and a government shutdown of the glacier national park. However, we loved the inn and the Montana hospitality. We were shown how to use bear spray, told about sites and other areas of interest once the park was shut down. The food was wonderful. We...

I did a lot of research, looking for a really nice, comfortable place to stay just outside Glacier NP. The Great Bear Inn was the only place I found that was both very comfortable and very close to the park. We stayed in a cabin just across from the main house. We found it very comfortable, convenient, and peaceful. The...

This is a mixed bag.... too expensive for what it is.... someone's home made into a "Bed and Dinner" lodging. The room we had was nice and large, bed comfortable, though the room was located off the bonus room area. The staff was friendly. I am extremely upset that my dietary restrictions (which were communicated beforehand) were ignored. The web...

We regret that your needs were not met. I cannot find any reservation with you listed as a guest in our Grand Room to determine where the mistake generated from. We have so many guests who do not mention any food restrictions until dinner is served, yet our chefs are always happy to replace that meal with another immediately. We...

The room was above average. It was very large & well furnished. It was actually bigger than necessary. The view of the mountains & the well landscaped hotel grounds was great. It had a very nice patio with chairs & table. The staff was very friendly & tried to do everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The only...

We regret that you were not completely happy with your stay here. Perhaps if you would have familiarized yourself with our website you would have known that we offer a Self Serve Continental Breakfast to our guests; the definition of which is coffee, tea, juices, and rolls. We expanded ours to include kasha cereals along with an assortment of other cereals,...

The Great Bear Inn is in the top five of special places I've stayed. The location is perfect- close to West Glacier and tucked in the woods off the main road. The hospitality is genuine and warm and the service is excellent. The five friendly dogs running amuck are in charge of greetings and bear protection. We didn't request to...

We love Great Bear Inn, the warmth of our hosts and the interesting people we met there! We just spent three days at the Inn. Would recommend it without reservations. Great location, about 15 minutes from the entrance to West Glacier National Park. Stayed in the mini grand room- excellent, quiet, access to the deck and great views, great bed,...

We spent 5 nights at the Great Bear Inn while we were hiking/biking in Glacier NP. Mary, the owner was very open and made us feel right at home - so much so that our room wan't ready when we arrived at 4:30pm the day of our reservation. Dinner is included in the room rate, unless you specifically ask not...

We regret wholeheartedly your experience with us. Each review brings insight to us. As such, we have revamped our maid service to be standard unless a guest places the Do Not Disturb Sign on their door. Our lodge sits in the middle of the woods, surrounded by thousands of pine trees. We had an unusual heat wave with nights turning...
