Our group of 86 was stranded by fog at Glacier Bay Lodge 2 extra unplanned days. The staff at Glacier Bay Lodge turned around on a dime and accommodated our group as though they were expecting us, but in reality most of their people worked extra time {some all night 2 nights in a row} to provide wonderful meals and...

The rooms are basic, but acceptable in a national park lodge, although my so-called "lake-view" room offered only glimpses of the lake through thick forest. However the food is terrible. The breakfast buffet is filled at 6.00 am for those taking the (fantastic) Glacier Bay tour and not refreshed, so by 8 am it is virtually inedible. Poor food and...

Conveniently located in Barlett Cove, clean, cozy rooms, gorgeous surroundings, excellent ranger programs, great restaurant, get to whale watch from the restaurant or the beach right on the property! Only downside - breakfast is buffet only at 13$ a pop with no ala carte choices.

We stayed 5 days and nights at the lodge. The shuttle service is indeed free but we did tip our driver because he was very good and he took us where ever we wanted to go and on time if we had a flight in or out. The rooms were very clean and rustic and big.We did have on major...

The experience first started out by taking a 15 minute bus trip from the airport to the lodge. The flight experience was a little unique as there is only a single runway in Gustavus and there is no real terminal. The room turned out to be a little better than I had expected after reading other reviews. The room was...

I gave this 4 stars mainly because the grounds and the scenery were magnificent. The restaurant was good but pricey. They have a buffet breakfast each morning for $13.99 and it was NOT good. The pancakes could not even be cut with my knife. My sister wrote an earlier review about our rollaway bed experience! I cannot believe they even...

This lodge is exactly what I expected from a lodge located in a National Park and operated by private firm under contract to the National Park Service. Grand Views and Beautiful Location As you might expect, the lodge has absolutely stunning views of Glacier Bay and the the surrounding woods. It has the rustic feeling (wood beams, wooden boardwalks, high...

We enjoyed our time at the Lodge and were thrilled that we could the whales from the dining room. It was quite an experience. They even had binoculars at each table for you to watch the action in the bay. Outside you could also hear them which was wonderful. We did not know that their would be so many stairs...

I came here definitely not expecting the hyatt. But I did expect a bed that wasn't broken and completely sagging. I knew the accomodations were going to be Spartan, but I thought I wouldn't be lopsided in bed. The internet in the lobby must have been AOL on dial up. I couldn't get my email to download before it would...

Barlett Cove is an amazing, marine-life rich location. The Lodge in isolation would only receive 3 stars but when combine with a 5 star location, warrants 4 stars. Upon checking in with the amazing David S., we looked out of the windows overlooking the cove and immediately saw two humpback whales! A mother and her calf fed in the cove...
