What a beautiful place. John was sooo nice and welcoming. Great people. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because when I made the reservation I said this was my first time. I'm disappointed that I wasn't told there was NO cell phone service, that I should of gone to...

For not spending a night with us, I will accept this as a great review! We are indeed located right next to the BWCAW which means Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Yes...WILDERNESS! This is where our guests come to disconnect from the digital world. Yes...we do have limited internet in the lodge via satellite and we have a large screen...

My wife and I stayed at Cross River Lodge for 3 nights after our wedding a couple years ago and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. Cross River was perfect for getting away, enjoying nature, and spending some quiet time together. We felt welcomed even before we arrived as John & Rose were so pleasant...

The drive to the Cross River Lodge may seem long to some, but when I put it perspective, it took 45 minutes from Grand Marais. Less then the time I spend commuting 1 way everyday! But, make sure you stock up on groceries before you go so that you don't have to make the drive back. Situated right on Gunflint...

Our 4th year visiting the Cross River Lodge on the Gunflint Trail. Our family has been vacationing here the past 4 summers and cannot wait to come back year after year. John and Rose do an outstanding job day in and day out and make every one of their guests feel welcome and at home. It's hard to come up...

Rose and I just don't know how to thank all of you for these wonderful reviews. We do work hard to make everything as nice as we can possibly make it. Our original business plan almost 6 years ago was 3 words and still holds true to this day...hospitality, cleanliness and value. Thanks to you all!

The suite was luxuriously comfortable, with attention to details like providing quality binoculars, microwave popcorn, and utensils to make the most of the kitchenette. This on top of an excellent bed, a whirlpool tub, furniture that invites you to relax, and an unparalleled view from the deck. Beyond that, a personalized breakfast awaits you every morning, where John makes you...

Thank you John and Rose for being such wonderful hosts! The Cross River suite was the perfect romantic getaway. it had the feel of a home away from home with many thoughtful touches and a north woods rustic decor. The view from our suite was fantastic. Watched a moose swim across the lake from the balcony which was very cool....
