This was our umpteenth visit to the BWCA, with only three of those visits not involving Clearwater. Those three went out of Ely. The lodge is marvelous, the people are wonderful and the setting is Classic North Woods. Service was excellent as always.

This was our second visit to Clearwater Lodge, which is even better than we recalled. Friendly, helpful, informative hosts, excellent breakfasts and baked goods, a welcoming fire. What a lovely place!

Clearwater Historic Lodge was an incredible find. The lodge itself is beautiful with cozy, well equipped cabins right on the lake. Beautiful views all around the lodge. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. So much to do outdoors, all easily accessible from the lodge. Can't wait to visit again next year!

We approached Eric and Clearwater with an idea for a week-long backcountry canoe camping trip several months ago. We had a rather large group of guys and wanted to do an early fall trip so as to miss out on some of the crowds (and black flies)! Well, September 17th through the 24th, thanks to Eric and the staff at...

First impressions came from the happy and helpful staff at Clearwater. Eric was able to answer all of our questions and we learned throughout our trip in BWCA that he knew exactly what he was talking about. The staff was very accommodating to us for the entire week we were there. Also, the buildings at the outfitter were comfortable and...

We spent two nights there in early October. The autumn colors were spectacular. The managers were extremely helpful with suggestions for hiking and canoeing. You could canoe beautiful Clearwater lake right from the dock in front of their building. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. The setting was the best part however. We generally camp, not stay in lodges, but this...

The lodge, the room, the food, the view, the staff - everything about this place makes for one unforgettable experience - you won't be disappointed!! If you are able, be sure to take the short (although a little steep in spots) climb up to Honeymoon Bluff; which is close to the lodge - the view is spectacular! There is also...

We had a great time. It was liberating being out of cell phone range and only limited WiFi access up at the main lodge. We stayed in cabin 2 which had two large picture windows looking out on the lake. We could sit in bed drinking coffee and enjoying the view. Everybody was friendly and helpful. We plan to do...
