We loved our days at Triangle X Ranch. All the wranglers, dining room, housekeeping, office staff were professional, courteous and efficient. We were well fed, too. My husband is a non-rider, but truly enjoyed the trail rides and I appreciated the well trained, sure-footed horses. All the horses looked well taken care of and were beautiful. The elk herd and lone bull sightings were magical, along with the bugling night and day. Though the mountains were not in clear sky background because of the western fires, it didn't detract from the scenery we encountered. The wranglers exuded enthusiasm and were so helpful. Meeting other guests from all over the U.S. was also a plus. If you ever want to experience horseback riding in this environment, you will not regret staying at this ranch. Hopefully next time we will have time for a river float.

We were a party of 8, total of 12 plus guide fit on one raft. We were given a location to meet at , followed by a short van ride to our dinner. We were offered steak, chicken, salad, baked potatoes and cookies. Grilled on premises. They also offered water for drinks. Food was good. Then we were taken to our raft by our guide Nick. It was approximately a 3 hour float, with plenty of time for photos while on the river. We did not get wet, and enjoyed our little get away, many views of the Grand Tetons, unfortunately the smoke made the mountains into silhouettes. Trip was great , would recommend.

There is a reason that Triangle X gets such excellent reviews—the location is perfect, the views are breathtaking, and the food is excellent. Great staff, as well. We were here on a snowshoeing trip—there are nicely groomed trails right around the lodge. Triangle X is a great way to enjoy Grand Teton National Park!

This is a horse back riding ranch. The price includes lodging in old cabins with beds, modest bathrooms and a nice porch. There is no place to hang out in the cabin other than sit on an uncomfortable chair. The rate includes three meals a day in a lodge building. The food is adequate to below average. There are no amenities for kids such as ping pong table, hot tub, playground, etc. There is a beautiful porch attached to the lodge but we had to ask that the gas fire pit be turned on. We wanted to cook s’mores over a real fire pit but they weren’t willing to make a fire even though the temps were quite low.
The lack of activities was probably due to the high season not starting for another week. We did receive a discounted rate.
The scenery is spectacular with direct views of the Tetons. The kitchen staff was very friendly. The wranglers were amazingly good and the horses were excellent. Many families return year after year. Just understand that the primary activity is two trail rides per day. Fishing trips can also be arranged for additional fees.

The ranch has an opening this 4th of July week. My husband and I enquired about booking it, but could not make their Sunday to Sunday schedule due to the death and funeral of my mother. We wanted to join them Monday night, by 10pm but they refused to pro-rate the weekly rate. Essentially, they want us to pay for 2 days of food, activities, and amenities that we would not even be there to partake in. One would think they would rather earn some revenue, 5 days for 2 people, than let a room go empty for 7 days.

Triangle X Ranch offers a 3 hour float boat trip down the Snake River. We were there in March and had a wonderful trip. Seeing eagles, moose and elk while being expertly guided down the river by the main guide Dave and his apprentice Andrew (his second time rowing and he did a fantastic job). For me it was an experience well worth the time and money!

Our family of 7 (2 adults, 5 kids aged 15, 13, 11, 9, and 9) stayed at the ranch for a week in July 2021. We absolutely loved it. The cabin is wonderfully rustic; but still very comfortable. Out unit had two bathrooms, which was nice. The front porch overlooks the mountains.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, which is traditional "ranch fare." For breakfast, expect eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc. Lunch might be sandwiches, spaghetti, or similar. Dinners were great - tenderloin, salmon, chicken, and prime rib.
The riding is excellent. They have very good horses. Yes, safe and gentle, but also not the usual "glue factory" horses you get at most trail riding attractions. These horses are full of energy and do what you ask. Our group ranged from no experience to experienced riders. For each ride, you choose what you'd like to do - beginner lesson, advanced lesson, slow walking ride, medium ride, or fast ride. The trails are spectacular. I don't think I ever rode the same trail twice and the views were amazing.
The kids and teen programs are also great. My kids never missed a ride and loved every minute. They really connect with the wrangles and other kid/teen guests.
NOTE - if you have some kids, bring a football! During the evenings all of the kids around the ranch would hang out and play touch football for hours. Hard to beat a cool summer evening of football in the shadow of the Grand Teton!

My kids (ages 10 and 11) and I booked Triangle X for a four-day horseback camping trip. We had an incredible experience. The guides (Nick, Bodie, and Donny) were expert horsemen and had extensive knowledge of the area. The horses were completely safe and fun to ride (I'm a lifelong rider). We ate great food despite being in the middle of the Bridger Teton National Forest. If you are looking for a horseback camping trip into the mountains, you can't do better than this!

Over the last 25 years I have been involved with several Outfitters as well as self hunts in Wyoming. Five of those were in the Teton Wilderness area. When booking a hunt in the wilderness area people have to realize how special this opportunity can be to not only have a successful hunt but also to see country most people can only dream of seeing. Only a licensed Outfitter can take non--residents into the Teton Wilderness. Our camp took a team of 15 mules, 3 trips in and out in order to set up the camp back in August. A total of 50 loaded mules which included a gas oven. Knowing the ride into Wolverine Creek was 6 hours which is about 18 miles and long for most of us that don't ride everyday the breaks were welcome. Although the trail was at times muddy from the rains our horses navigated the trail without any problems. I found the the camp Top Shelf. This includes the Tents, Flooring, Stoves, Food, Horses, Personnel and attention to detail that really makes a difference one of the Best Experiences I have had hunting with an Outfitter. One of the details that was awesome was the tent set up for the saddles and tack verse just leaving them on the ground with a tarp thrown over the top. Would do this trip again in a heartbeat!!!!!

Authentic lodging, dining, & activities in a spectacular Teton mountain range setting. None of our family members knew how to horseback ride very well when we arrived. We rode every day; enjoying a variety of scenery, wildlife and wildflowers. Simply amazing.
Every staff member made us feel welcome and appreciated. From the Turner family, office staff, wranglers, and kitchen staff..... all were wonderful. We let Triangle X know in advance that 4 of our family eat gluten-free. They worked hard to accommodate this request even though all meals are served family-style.
Our grandkids loved meeting other families and played outdoors all day. The teen overnight was a favorite. Our family also enjoyed a float trip and fly fishing.
We had Andrew Slaton, (fantastic professional photographer) take family photos on our last night. Our stylish girls had chosen the theme in advance and we all packed accordingly. The result is dear to my heart. A poignant memory of an incredible time in our lives.

Hi and thank you for your interest in Triangle X Ranch. We are located in GTNP and begin taking guests on May 22nd. We have a 4 night minimum this time of year. The cost is roughy $280.00 per person per night and includes lodging, all meals and ranch activities.
Thank you for your interest in a vacation at Triangle X Ranch. You are corect, children have their own rides and we do not allow children on the adult rides. However parents are more than welcome to join their kids on the kids rides.
Thank you for your interest in Triangle X Ranch.
As I'm sure you already know September is a great time to visit the Jackson Hole area. It has also become a very popular month to stay at the ranch.
Last September we had an average of 6-8 riders per ride and this was higher than our 5 year average. Normally the numbers or more in the 3-6 range. We purposely maintain a full wrangling crew through September as guests staying with us during that time are seeking smaller rides.
If your travel dates are flexible and you decide to look into a stay at the ranch I would recommend calling and finding out when the slowest time in September is - this will help ensure the smallest rides possible.
Harold is still at the ranch and 5 generations of the Turner family have now called Triangle X Ranch home. This will be our 89th year in operation.
Thank you for the question.
There are more places to choose from in the Moose area.
