This is a fairly simple lodge type motel. It is just outside The Great Sand Dunes National Park, and is the only choice around unless you are camping. The rooms all have small covered patios, with views of the dunes in the distance....much nearer are the hummingbird feeders which were buzzing with activity during my stay. Nothing fancy, but no...

We stayed for 3 nights in the deluxe plus room which had a king bed, sleeper sofa, refrigerator, and microwave. It also had a small patio and an excellent view of the sand dunes. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. We could hear the neighbors through the walls; however, it wasn’t too bothersome and we did...

We just wrapped up a two night stay with another couple at the Great Sand Dune's Lodge. Even though this is the only place to stay nearby, it suited our purpose with a nice porch, great hummingbird action, and easy access to the national Park. However, upon check out both couples were shocked to find out that their credit cards...

We wanted to attack the dunes early, and unless you're camping or have an RV this is your only option. The dunes are very remote and to get the full experience you really should stay here. That being said, these are very basic motel rooms (thin walls, random noises) so don't expect more. Somewhat like a campsite where you'll see...

We usually visit the GSDL on the way to Santa Fe during spring break. At that time, the Oasis restaurant across the parking lot is closed for the season, and continental breakfast comes with our stay. Not knowing that the restaurant is open for limited hours in May, we expected continental breakfast would be served. Not so. Nothing in the...

Twyla checked us in and was very helpful with information. The room was nice, with a decent view of the Sand Dunes. I just wish someone had told us the restaurant closed in the early afternoon, since we had not brought any real food with us, other than snacks. It was quiet (of course it is still off season) and...

After a great sunny day at the Dunes, we spent one night at Great Sand Dunes Lodge on Easter Saturday. Booked online a few months in advance, we had a good standard room with pleasant porch and great view on the Dunes. Early in the morning we were literally surrounded by mule deers; excellent wildlife viewing. We used the gas...

Clean motel style rooms. Indoor heated pool. Amazing views of the dunes. We stayed for one night (family of 5). They do provide a basic continental breakfast in the morning. make sure you travel in with lots of food and snacks, we stayed prior to the restaurant being open for the season and there is nowhere within 35 miles to...

Rooms are well kept, clean as well as the bathroom. Shower was easy to step in and out. Bed very comfortable and hosts are very polite, competent and well versed in running good accommodations. Road to the lodge is rough gravel but keep pushing on as in a 1/4 mile or so you'll reach it. Beautiful views over looking the...

We stayed at the Great Sand Dunes Lodge while visiting the Great Sand Dunes national park. The lodge offers basic accommodations with gorgeous views overlooking the Sangre De Cristo mountains and the dunes. We were treated to a truly amazing sunset. Our room was ultra clean and very comfortable. The staff was wonderful. This is out in the middle of...
