We love this hotel for many reasons. First, it's one block from the parkway, so it is quieter and no traffic, but still only a two minute walk away. Secondly, they have removed the carpeting in the rooms and replaced it with vinyl. No hidden bacteria, dust mites allergens or anything else that you would find in carpet. Face it, how many times have you rented a hotel room and found a stain on the carpet? All the rooms have been updated with granite countertops, pillow top bedding etc. Nice people to deal with as well. Very organized check in process.
We had a terrific visit for a week. Room was clean, but not the bathroom. We found a dry washcloth hanging on the showerhead, particles of dirt on the floor in the bathroom. The rooms floor was dirty..But the beds were clean and compfy. We were on the third floor with a balcony that we would sit on to drink our coffee or just relax. We got clean towels and garbage taken out everyday only. No coffee pot, no ironing board nor any tissues and no clock. Thank goodness we always bring our own things. Even extra towels. We were able to sleep great. No noise.Last memo..The front desk was exceptional.
This is a great place to stay. The rooms are always clean. We love the location. Our room had lots of space. The bed was very comfortable. The staff is always friendly. The air conditioning will freeze you out of the room. We have stay here several times and alway love it.
The place is a bait and switch. They have another building across the road which is in starck contrast to the rooms in their website pictures. They are not serving breakfast despite advertising on many websites that they do. They cite city covid regulations but other hotels like Hampton Inn in gatlinburg are serving breakfast. The room is is real bad shape. See pics I shared. I would stay away from this hotel. The hotel manager is rude at best. When I showed them pics of commode, their reply was that others have been okay is using the same toilet....omg!! Stay away.
I have stayed at this property before and been impressed with it for what is often a good price (not always) in a good location. It is a motel, but well-kept, clean, and updated. Unless, that is, they stick you in the building out back which I didn't even know was a part of the place until last week. When I questioned the location I was told I would have to pay more for the main building. Nothing on Choice Hotels website reveals this possibility. Beds still comfortable and rooms have a deck, but desperately need TLC. Nothing like the rooms in main building. Baseboards/ woodwork rotting away, rust on the tissue dispenser (empty after I used two of them). No tea in the room, just two tiny (1-cup) packs of coffee. Sheets made of some kind of cheap satiny fabric, did not feel fresh at all. Didn't appreciate housekeeping staff banging on doors up and down the hall yelling "laundry!" at 9am. Overall, not a great experience this time.…
