Staying here was like being a member of the family. From the moment we arrived the friendliness of the staff was impressive. The rooms and bathrooms are large and the food plentiful, well presented and beautifully cooked. The main reason to stay here though is for the tours of the Battlefields. These were undertaken by the most knowledgeable, passionate and...

The accommodation at Fugitive's Drift Lodge was spacious and extremely comfortable. The service from the moment we arrived at every level was excellent and friendly. The location and views are superb, and the cuisine was extremely good and very well presented. The Rorke's Drift & Isandlwana battlefield tours were superb, a fantastic experience and highly recommended. Wonderful to see the...

We arrived at Fugitive Drift Guest House knowing nothing about where we were staying for three nights. Having had a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg we were immediately made to feel at home and welcomed by Megan who is absolutely delightful and my husband really wanted to bring her home! Their fireside drinks before dinner makes sure everybody gets to...

Friends who were lucky to hear him returned from Fugitive's Drift with glowing recommendations about the late David Rattray's story telling. Listening to his voice on the recording played by our hosts whilst driving on the road to Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana it was clear they were not exaggerating. As impressive was the story telling by his son, Andrew, at...

We got a transfer from Durban up to Fugitive's Drift and when we arrived we were greeted by Spud the Black Labrador. ;-) We stayed at the guest house in room 1 which was right down the end next to the bush and we loved it. Yes the room doesn't have a TV or aircon but is has a full...

Continuing our anniversary trip we arrived after a 4 hour trip from the Drakensberg mountains. We were given a really warm reception and after freshening up were guided up for lunch on the terrace of the Hartford Library, where we were greeted by host Nicky. Stunning views of Buffalo River, and the reserve. We booked both tours to the battlefields...

This lodge is primarily known for its guided trips to Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift, and the two were stunning. The guides who described what had happened were knowledgable, communicative and approachable. The tours were fantastic. The Lodge has rooms which are spacious, well equipped and comfortable, and the whole operation is provided with a real commitment to customer service. Just...

Battlefield Tours are the reason to visit this area and we were blown away by the tours of Isandalwana and Rorke's Drift. Each was told from a different perspective, one British and one Zulu by guides who certainly know their stuff - they conjure up great "mind pictures" and you feel as if you are with the action. We stayed...

Have just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay, I was impressed with the professional, but personal approach from every member of staff. I enjoy communal dining, and as a solo traveller it was great to have time to discuss thoughts. The setting is spectacular and, as someone who has been on numerous battlefield tours, I've never had such immersive,...
