The room was furnished very tastefully. They are pet friendly, which helped in deciding where we wanted to stay. The wine and cheese was delicious and the breakfast in the morning was excellent. My hat goes off to the staff. Thanks

Employees all had great, helpful attitudes. Breakfast had fresh, bakery pastries. The electric elevator was a neat throwback in time and worked just fine. This is a property that dates back to 1903 that has been repurposed as a small hotel. Our double-double room was fine but a little tighter than a chain hotel. All in all, our stay here...

Great experience at this cute hotel. Incredibly welcoming staff, yummy breakfast, quaint and tidy rooms with charm of years long past. Stayed in double queen room with 2 children & we were plenty comfortable. Easy walk to many restaurant choices & events at Carolina theatre. Would highly recommend and you won't beat the value in downtown Greensboro any where!

Very nice staff; the parking deck across the street was convenient (with validated parking, as well); easy walking to all Greensboro attractions. The rooms were dated and the beds were soft. If you are into that, great, if not, it could be a problem.

I chose this place because I needed to be close to the Guilford County Courthouse for a hearing. (it happens to be right across the street which was a bonus). Close to a lot of great downtown places! Will bring a bottle of wine next trip. (however, did have wine and cheese between 6pm and 8pm in the lobby. :)

I enjoyed staying here. Very historical and a great location. I felt comfortable leaving my dog there as well. The stairway and elevator were a little creepy and I thought the hotel might be haunted, but in a Casper way and not an Amityville way.

The Biltmore has a colorful history , and the ambiance of times past, which really appealed to us. Don't expect pristine or modern, but do expect a very warm welcome from General Manager Brian, wine and cheese in the historic lobby, and a gourmet continental breakfast including pastry from the best place in town. The elevator from the 1920's lends...

Fabulous location. Beautifully appointed public areas and rooms nice and comfy. More spacious than I imagined. Good breakfast. Excellent service. Loved newspaper delivered at bedroom door. The only issue I had was the rather loud Heating/AC system.

I thought it was a very cool hotel. It was old school but it looked clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was close to restaurants and other venues. I loved the huge windows. I would definitely stay again.

This is an amazing place that is well worth the price. My girlfriend and I bought a room for a vacation and we enjoyed the entire stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. The convenient downtown parking was a nice addition, too. I would definitely go back to Biltmore whenever I'm back in town.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our history begins in 1903, when the building was constructed to house the burgeoning corporate empire of Cone Export and Commission Company. At the time it was said to be “in every way up-to-date and well appointed.” This means completed wired for electricity and plumbing, and in 1920, they added one of Greensboro’s first unmanned elevators to the building; it is the one we still use today. They occupied the space until 1924 when they moved to larger building around the corner. At that time, the building housed local insurance companies. It was in 1929, that the building was converted to living quarters. Half of the building was used as an annex to the local post office, until 1932, and the other half was listed in the city directory as furnished rooms. The Greenwich, as it became known as the following year, was one of the first to offer private baths for around $2.00 a day. In the late ‘40s, early 50s, it became known as the Greenwich Apartments and stayed this way until the mid-1960s. In the late ‘60s, the building reopened as the Greenwich Inn, and a new face was brought to the building by renowned interior designer Otto Zenke. He modeled the hotel after an English hunting club and decorated the lobby as an old world drawing-room with walnut paneling and traditional hunting scenes. The hotel changed ownership once again 1992, and was renamed the Biltmore Greensboro Hotel. Today, we pride ourselves as a fine boutique establishment, offering old world charm accentuated by modern amenities you would find at any hotel of distinction. Under new ownership since 2007, we look forward to continuing to provide memorable experiences for all our guests. Stay once and not only will we remember your name but the little things like your favorite room or you need for a late checkout. It is always “no problem.” ... more   less
