Comfortable lodge within the park so you can enjoy your safari the fullest. Staff is friendly and food is okay. Tents are pretty simple but comfortable. Too bad that they are little too close to each other so you won't only hear the sounds of nature but also your neigbours... The best thing by far the is fantastic view from...

Whoever chose the location for this lodge was very smart. Beautiful terrace overlooking a river valley. I don't think you could tire of the view. The massive sky is always changing and there are always animals to view while you sit and relax. Food here is much better than many hotels in Arusha (where I live) and the staff manage...

My third stay here was just as good as previous visits. Of my group of 11, 6 had some dietary requirements and all were taken care of with no problems, everyone was very satisfied with meals arranged for them. I had a problem where a tree squirrel had managed to get into my tent while it was being cleaned. The...

Just about perfect, but perfection just would be fine-tuning. Of course, this all is based on a tent camp, so a Four Seasons is in a different cosmos. That said, the tents and furnishings therein are comfortable and just "rough" appearing enough to promote the safari kind of atmosphere most of us (whether we admit it or not) are hoping...

Built on an escarpment, overlooking the park spreading below,Tarangire safari lodge offers a unique experience. One can sit at the look out patio and watch the wildlife pass by while totally relaxing with a cool drink.Visited for the second time after nine years for these nostalgic reasons....and nothing seemed changed at first glance..However,in addition to the tented huts, some bungalow type...

Hello Deepa W Thank you for your Review. Your feedback was helpful for us to note - especially with better night lighting. Regrets for your fall! (The original paths were 'washing away' which is why they were raised up.) Happy you still found comforts as you remembered and "all in all a very pleasurable experience." I loved this place. it is built on an escarpment overlooking a river valley. You can sit on the huge patio and watch the animals in the valley below. At close to sundown, they serve appetizers and with a drink, it is a great place to sit and watch whatever animals and birds that decide to appear. The lounge area...

The eating area and front patio are gorgeous. Spectacular setting. Food is ok. The problem is there was no way to summon help from your tent once you are walked there after dinner. The tents are very, very close together, you can hear your neighbors whispering. We had the misfortune to be next to the loudest snorer we have ever...

Hello travelwriters, Apologies for the tardy response to your review - worth responding to. Happy you enjoyed our location & "spectacular setting" We do have Whistles in all the rooms & you were meant to be told - but still thank you for the comment re. summoning help once dark. Will remind the night guards to make more frequent walks...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built on top of a high bluff with a breathtaking panorama, our lodge is superbly located in Tarangire National Park, providing one of the best views in Africa. Carving out the landscape below the lodge is the Tarangire River, a favourite watering place, which attracts impressive numbers and a variety of game. The scene unfolds before you while lounging on the outdoor patio, allowing you to appreciate Tarangire's diverse wildlife. At the heart of the lodge are the impressively high thatched roofs of the lounge and dining room. The open-sided design allows an uninterrupted view of the landscape and wildlife below, and captures the cooling breeze while you dine on our delicious home cooked safari cuisine. The lounge area has oversized armchairs made from old dhow boats, which make a perfect place to relax. Those wanting something a bit more active can take a dip in the pool, a bird walk around the lodge grounds or hunt for souvenirs in the Baobab boutique. Our twin tents combine the authentic safari atmosphere of 'nights under canvas', with more modern comforts of electric light and en suite bathrooms with solar hot water. We also have bungalows that provide the space and convenience of solid walls yet blend into their surroundings by using local stone and echoing the traditional round Maasai huts. Tarangire Safari Lodge offers morning & evening bush walks along the river, Night Drives and Game Drives and don't miss a massage with a view at "Patulivu"! "Karibuni" or Welcome! ... more   less

Hello Darla K

Welcome to Tarangire Safari Lodge for a

Night drive and guided Bush walk.

(This is only offered for those guests staying here.)

It is not always necessary to pre-book but if it is high season

then it is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Hello And Welcome to Tarangire Safari Lodge.

We are often having an extra bed or cot in the tents.

We turn the beds around and it works fine.

We can easily accommodate 3 adults though it is more

cozy than spacious.

Let me know how we can make it comfortable for you.

Hello Jessica,

Tsetses are not prevalent around the lodge. They tend to be more bothersome the further south you go.

Thanks,

Additional answer, you must remember to use the "monkey proof" lock provided by TSL to secure the zippers on the tent to keep out monkeys and no food is allowed past a certain area of the lodge and certainly not in your tent
