The house is a lovely place to escape the bustle of the town center. With a great front porch for lounging and rear garden for watching the pigeons. The triple room was huge, a luxury for the price. Breakfast was poor and easily skipped. The host Tony was unfortunately the weakest link. His customer service absent although he was popular...

Maybe we caught Tony on a bad day but we were disappointed with the service from the time of our arrival. We arrived around 2:30 pm and rang the bell but couldn't find any staff or note saying they'd be back soon. Tony arrived and showed us to a room after we'd waited in the common area for 20 minutes...

We enjoyed 3 nights at Cherukara Nest and one fantastic night on Tony's houseboat. The guesthouse is converted from an old family bungalow and is very homely. The garden and communal areas are lovely places to relax and read or chat to other guests. The rooms are huge, clean and very comfortable and decorated with mostly antique furniture giving them...

We arrived very early from an overnight train. We were invited in and had a nice simple breakfast and waited for a room to become available. Tony and Co were very helpful and we enjoyed a peaceful couple of hours reading in the lovely back garden. Room was good value, clean and quiet. We had a good feeling about the...

My girlfriend and I spent two nights staying at Tony's homestay, the rooms are very spacious, clean and come with mosquito nets over the beds which are always welcome in these sorts of areas! The included breakfast was good and the communal areas very relaxing and sociable. During our first nights stay we met another couple there and when Tony...

My boyfriend and I booked a two-night stay on a houseboat hosted by CHERUKARA. The ride was pleasant during the day. Food was average. However in the evening, we managed to kill 5-6 cockroaches in our bedroom. They were all over our bathroom walls and fell from the ceiling onto our beds through the thatched roof. My boyfriend also became...

The price of this homestay was the cheapest we stayed at our entire journey and the room and service was far from the worst. We couldn't believe that for Rs 900 breakfast was also included. The location is great- right next to the bus stop. Great for backpackers! The only problem is there isn't really an online booking service it...

we spent 4 nights at this guesthouse and were very impressed. The owner, Mr John is very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The room was large and slept 3 of us. One double and one single in two separate bedrooms. The grounds were lovely and we enjoyed drinking cold beer on the veranda each evening. Breakfast was provided...

This heritage home is ideally situated for picking up houseboats and for the better shopping and restaurants in Alleppey. The rooms are spacious , pleasant and clean, however a little TLC to the property and some imaginative interior design could turn this into something really special. The breakfast is simple but adequate and this is reflected in the price. Tony...
