Situated directly on the backwaters a great alternative to the house boat. The 'boat man' can take you out for sunset or a day trip on the boat. The food is fresh and home made. You have to pay for wifi but it's very good. Manu is super nice!! We hired bikes and it was stunning to go around the...

I sometimes hesitate to gush about a hotel / guesthouse, thinking that it may start receiving too many guests and the quality may go down, but then one receives such a lovely service that one cannot help but rave about it. This is a lovely property - quiet, beautiful location. Its simple, no frills, but great views and fantastic food!...

Clean, simple, great food, lovely staff. If you're looking for a place to relax and take things at ease, this is the place to be. Rooms have nice lake-view and a boat-trip through the backwaters is included. It is located in a small village. It's handy to have your own transport, bur the owners are more than willing to help...

I stayed based on a recommendation of a friend. I travelled on one of the farms' houseboat for a day and then stayed at the farm for another day. The rooms there were very good. The family at the farmhouse spoke very good English which made my life easier. Meals are included on the houseboat and are optional when staying...

Where to start when there are so many good things to say? Firstly, I hands down recommend this place and will be back in the future. With that said, this place is not a luxury resort. It is very clean, but basic - the room had a comfortable bed, a cupboard and a desk and chairs. The bathroom brings you...

This place is located between Aleppey and Cochin in a small remote village. Even though it is a bit far, it is AMAZING. The cottage like rooms are built right on the bank of the back waters. The room and bathroom are clean - the room has mosquito nets as well as electric repellents and a small cupboard, writing table and...

visited March 2015. Not sure what we expected but the ride to the farmstay over narrow, bumpy roads set the stage. We wondered where we were. Suddenly, a couple men met our car, hoisted our luggage and led us to our room/cabin/cottage. We had asked for twin beds - not done, but they did rearrange the room. Someone said, "lunch"...

We stayed at one of the boathouses, with a memorable ride around the backwaters. The boat was "tugging boat" type without any motors, just two crewmen using the canes to tug the boat forward in the calm backwaters. The food served on the boat was good, and one of the highlights of the trip was a stop at a remote...

We loved our stay at backwater farm house. It was very quiet and we get the lovely bungalow right at the waterfront! It was very clean and cozy! Also the food was excellent, we get every day some fresh fish right from the backwaters! But specially Manu and his family make our stay to remember! Manu is a very lovely...

1. It is not commonly visited by Indian folks - is predominantly a 'foreigners' place, some on short trips, others while receiving ayurvedic treatment in near by clinics. We were the only Indian family among 3-4 more guests in the lean season. 2. Our initial impression of rooms was - Oh God - no luggage shelf's/Almira. One simple table/plastic chair....
